I'm looking for a fairly stylish changing bag, backpack style...

I wouldn't say money's no object, but I'm prepared to splurge. I'll have the baby in a sling so it needs to be able to be worn on my back. We use cloth nappies so it needs to be a reasonable size without being massive.

Why does it have to be a changing bag rucksack style - why not find a nice funky/fashionable ruscksack so you still get to keep a bit of the person you were before? Oh - unless it's for DH to wear also. Silly me, maybe it is?

Otherwise, if it's a normal rucksack style, John Lewis or Next have good ranges normally or if not, Jojomaman Bebe/Great Little Trading Company if for a actual change bag.

rucksacks often come with lots of compartments, which is basically what a change bag is... just do lots of internet searching for nice ruck sacks...
ask on style. the ladies on there know a thing or two about looking for decent accessories online.

start a thread on style boards i mean.

Thank you all. TBH, I don't know why it had to be a changing bag rucksack! I guess I thought that there'd be handy little pockets (you can tell how clueless I am about such things!) Will follow your advice re: the normal rucksack and if time starts running out, call upon the stylites (I did wonder about that, but was scared in case rucksacks were considered to be but one step up from crocs, and I was opening myself up to lots of 'FGSs'...)

I found a great rucksack quite cheaply (can't remember which shop though, sorry, twas a long time ago) and used it as you plan to, baby in sling and rucksack on my back. The front has elastic bands criss-crossed on it which used to be useful to stash a sweatshirt or the sling when I took Dd out of it. Roomy, light but waterproof, only two main compartments (great for cloth nappies) and two small side pouches useful to stow wipes/tissues/snacks. For security I would always carry a mobile and purse either in my jeans pockets or in the depths of the bag, depending on how easily I needed to access them. It doesn't matter too much if the bag you fancy doesn't have lots of pockets, you can easily buy other bags like clear makeup zip up ones, to stow away other bits and bobs. For the used cloth nappies I used to carry a waterproof bag within one of the main pockets.

Happy shopping, hope you find what you are looking for

I bought a lovely Samsonite changing rucksack from TKMaxx for £15 from £75, and I love it - great for cloth nappies. Mine is denim, but there were other colours when i got mine. Tons of pockets, I love it - perfect when babywearing!

I got a mamas and papas one from tesco £20 good size, changing mat inside (which I left in a service station on the M1 )
Black and grey so DH can carry it, Several handy pockets

here it is

I would say my only criticism is that the straps are not padded but then the stuff inside isn't really heavy.

I got a really funky Samsonite one on ebay - it has 3 pockets that zip all the way round so you can get at things without rumaging, lots of inner organiser bits, changing mat and thermal bottle thingy. OK, so mine is designed to look like a turtle, but they do more tasteful ones!
