Hi. Can anyone recommend a good pack back? Want to carry dd to nursery - about thirty mins walk - so needs to be comfy. She'll be six months when i she starts at nursery.

Would highly recommend Vaude (vaude dot co dot uk). We were given a second hand one by BIL after his two had grown out of it, and we used it until it died. Much more comfortable than the cheaper versions from Mothercare and so on.

We have the Macpac Possum and its brilliant. DS loves it and will often ask to go out in it. Its very comfy, has a reasonable amount of extra storage and is reasonable value.

We got a Vaude one as well (Jolly Comfort I think) and its great DS loves going in it. Wasn't cheap but we get our monies worth as it means we can go places that we couldn't go with a pram/stroller

ERGO ERGO ERGO, much more comfortable than a framed carrier in my opinion. Can be used on back or front or hip. I could carry DD (2yrs) for ever in our Ergo, but found our LittleLife framed carrier too heavy/uncomfortable after approx half an hour.

Ergo looks a bit more urban too, so you don't look like you're off to climb a mountain

Have a look here

Ooh - like the look of the Ergo - is it fairly easy to get baby in and out of?

Another vote for Vaude. Been using mine since ds was 5 months. Use it for 30-45 mis twice a day to walk the dog. DS loves being in it. Didn't get on with the Ergo at all (think I'm too short).

I've never used the Ergo for a younger baby (planning on getting DS in it soonish ) but I found it easy to swing DD onto my back and strap her in (and that is supposedly the hardest manoeuvre!). There are some great US sites with clear instructions, will search for them if you are interested.

Using it with child on the front or hip is v v v easy.

I'm tall 5ft9 and DH is 6ft3 and we both like it. Packs down small too

ergo is dead simple to get baby into and out of.
