Potties for boys?

Can anyone recommend a potty for my ds? I would like to buy one for him now so that he gets used to seeing it before he has to start using it but can't find one that is high enough at the front. Anyone with a ds knows that when they wee it goes all over if you're not careful!

We had one from Ikea for ds that had a nice high front, far better than the more expensive one we bought from John Lewis.

We got one called Splashy (!) from Mothercare - as long as ds is 'tucked in' it's fine. However as soon as possible we got him to stand up and wee into the loo. Less cleaning, as long as his aim is good!

Do boys wee into a potty standing up? Don't they sit down at first?

We also bought one of those toddler-sized loo seats that go on top of the normal loo seat. Complete waste of money as ds won't use it. When doing a poo he prefers to wobble on the normal seat.
It's quite sad how pleased I am if he does a poo on the loo instead of the potty.

I bought a Curver one for my boys, I'm not sure if mothercare sell them. It was quite expensive but is very stable, comfortable and quite high at the front. DS1 is now 9 and still has infuriatingly poor aim at the toilet!

My son stood first and sat later! He even preferred to do his first nappyless poos standing up. We didn't use the potty for long in fact, got him a combination toilet seat and step. His aim is pretty good, unless he's showing off and pretending to be a firefighter IYKWIM!!

The Baby Bjorn ones have a raised lip at the front which is high enough to act as a shield for little boys sitting down, but not so high as to do them a mischief if they sit down too fast or in the wrong place.

Bear in mind that when he sits down you could (as I have) teach him : Willie down ! or some other cute sentence. I discovered nursery did the same thing !
I have a Baby Bjorn.
My son sat down for the first month and he now sits on the toilet or stands up or ... pees against a tree
He is 2 1/2

PamT, glad it's not just us, my DS2 is also 9 and since we made the mistake of carpeting the bathroom (had floorboards and rugs before) I have discovered just how bad his aim is!

When I summon up the energy I'll get something mosture-resistant and wipeable laid...
