Anyone found one yet. I cant abide that yellowing it leaves on your kids whites and I can remove it either.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 10:31

those coloured creams are the worst.

But you know what, I havent yet heard of a cream which doesnt stain the kids whites.

I find all my dh's white t-shirts get ruined in this way too. It's bl**dy annoying. He now wears more coloured ones, but you'd think it's not too much to ask to be able to wear white in the summer without it being totally buggered!

Welcome fellow sun cream sufferer. We just need someone to come up with a solution

Ultrasun.

PestoMonster · 02/05/2007 10:38

What's that? A brand?

fortyplus · 02/05/2007 10:40

The problem is that the non staining ones aren't effective enough for children's skins.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 10:41

Ultrasun eh? and it doesnt leave that yellow stain when its dried?

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 10:41

Huh, I knew there had to be a catch, typical

A friend who is a HV even got sent on a course all about it so she can advise mums. You have to buy new sun cream every year and use one of the ones that leaves a visible white or coloured residue.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 10:45

arrgh, alrght for the beach but not on expensive school polo tops.

OP posts:
fortyplus · 02/05/2007 10:49

I suppose the only consolation is that you could get away with a less effective cream on a school day as they aren't outside for too long?

saggers · 02/05/2007 10:49

I haven't found one yet. my dermatologist said they must be SPF30 and have 5 stars UVA protection - for adults and children.I've tried the 4 brands she recommended, and they all stain white clothes. The coloured ones are worse, and there's absolutely no benefit from using a coloured spray.

fortyplus · 02/05/2007 10:57

No benefit but children seem to think they're more 'cool' than the white ones.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 10:59

ok, looks like I may have to start a thread on any washing solutions that remove sun creams.

I can only confirm that Boots Soltan (SPF 30 and 50) do stain clothes...tis annoying

fortyplus · 02/05/2007 11:02

A hot wash has always worked for me if it doesn't come out first time on a cooler one.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 11:04

Nah the hotwash doesnt seem to cut it for me it could of the been the particular sun cream product I was using at the time.

fortyplus · 02/05/2007 11:13

Well the one I've got in the cupboard at the moment is Nivea SPF 30 waterproof tinted green. That comes out fine. Mine are too old to care about the colour but the green tinge doesn't mark clothes as badly as white.

TenaLady · 02/05/2007 20:34

ah thats interesting.
