Sun Protection for a Jane Slalom?

Last year when DS2 was born I bought a Jane parasol. But this year I find out it doesn't fit on the pushchair seat when the hood is on! So what else do I use? I am quietly seething about this, as the parasol was not cheap, and now I'm going to have to fork out for something else. GRRRRRR!!!!!!

Opps again, didn't post the blank one like I thought I had!

It's all your's littleman, if feetheart comes back to this thread. I took DS2 out this morning, and even though he was blathered in cream he still ended up a bit pink So I bought a shade a babe this afternoon. It works a treat, I am really pleased with it already!

oh. you won't want to hear, then, that i looked at my hood and the two loops you were referring to can just be un-poppered. in fact, it's un-poppering them that releases the hood forward... i didn't bother doing them back up last year so i'd forgotten all about them tbh.

good to know on the days you forget your baby burkha, at least.

I might be being a bit daft, but if you unpopper the hood and push it forward, does it not then let the sun in the back instead, potentially right on their heads? Buggy not here and can't visualise it!!

AitchTwoOh · 04/05/2007 19:59

no, it doesn't. the sun can't really be coming from all directions, and if it is coming from behind then there's generally a muckle great parent in the way. honestly, it's a brilliant solution. now that dd's legs stick out the bottom of the buggy a bit more it's not perfect but when she was wee it meant no shades or parasols. my bugabooed pals were most envious.

oh, plus it doesn't push all the way forward, only about six inches then it stops.
