3 wheel buggy with carry cot?

anyone know a good ligthweight, easy to steer, not too big 3 wheeler which can have a carry cot attached to it? also maybe a buggy board that can be attached? must be below £500, preferrably below £200, as altho i should get a grant i cant justify spending it all on a buggy.

or am i dreaming lol.

The Mountain Buggy can get a carry cot as an optional extra. But although it is easy to steer, it is quite bulky and might be too expensive once you've added the cost of the extras. Don't know about the buggy board. You can get a "car clip" that means that you can attach (certain) rear facing car seats (mine was a Britax rock-a-tot), whcih is quite useful.

personally i dont like babies in car seats when not in a car, but really want to be able to see the baby (not even had 12 week scan yet but am thinking about buggies)

lullabys have got the Jane three wheeler on offer at the moment. They are very good for delivery and customer service.

lonelymumof3 · 29/07/2004 17:31

they are the Jane matrix 3 wheelers. choice of colours and its £295 for the lot at the moment which i thought was really good. I think you can get a kiddi/buggy board on it as well if you need to.

whats the jane like to push? and surely the lie flat car seat cant be that roomy?

this is so hard trying to think of what to do. I was just gonna buy a bog standard pram, but for 6months use its not worth it. so i really want something i can use for longer.

whats the quinney like with the tilt wheel?

ive got the cossato riga 2 in 1 and thats great. i have a kiddiboard on it as well for dd. i know someone who has a jane and said it was great. the carseat was really good as well cos you can have it so it sits up as well if you want

LunarSea · 29/07/2004 18:05

We had one from alu rax which had a carry cot option.

misdee · 29/07/2004 18:08

the cosatta riga is a standard pram isnt it? i had a similar style one with dd1, but hardly used it past 6months as i found it heavey.

i had a mothercare urban detour 3 wheeler which i had for 4yrs and stupidly sold it, but it has to be one of the most used pushchairs i owned. but they dont have a carry cot option. the only way i'd be able to see my baby is to use it as a travel system but i prefer babies to be lying flat.

How about the Mac3 which has an additional carry cot attachment. I think it comes to about £280 altogether (you haven't had a scan, but I'm not even pregnant yet & am considering buggies...!).

misdee · 29/07/2004 18:25

the mac3, doesnt have swivel wheels tho does it? my poor wrists ache when puching a buggy and can stand the lift and tilt thing on non swivel buggies.

this is the fun part of being pregnant, buying everything lol!!

Dunno, haven't seen one in the flesh yet. Cheap though!

Jane is ideal to push and I have the lie flat matrix car seat which I used as a carry cot/pram top for the first 4 month. DS then wanted to sit up. Plenty of room for him and he is a long boy (98 centile for height!!) Now in the pushchair part, it lies very flat so he can still sleep. I would recommend it. My DH especially loves the adjustable handle height and he finds it easy to push too. I have read other threads recently and not sure about the buggy board.

second the mountain buggy. It is really lightweight, the quinny is heavy one of the reasons for not getting that one. It is a bit of a pain having to buy all the different accessories but you can get a cot, attach a carseat or just use the pushchair from newborn anyway. You can also attach a buggy board.

i think i'm just gonna take a trip upto the kiddicare store in p'boro closer to the time and take dd2 with me (my heaviest yet youngest) to see what they steer like with a toddler in them. but i do really want the baby facing me.
