It's got to the stage now where dd is 14 months and we're itching to travel. We've got a couple of holiday booked abroad and are looking for a nice light travel cot which isn't going to eat our luggage allowance on flights!

I can only find the graco compact, but am worried that it'll be too small by the end of this year. Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Many thanks!

travel cots aren't part of the luggage allowance on flights usually.

these are meant to be good.

Doesn't the place you're staying in provide a cot if you ask? I've never taken a travel cot other than to friends/family.

The hotel we're going to will provide them for 6 euros a day. Given that we're going for 2 weeks, it just seemed to make more sense to buy one as it would be cheaper (minus cost of transporting!)

Are these tent type cots comfortable for babies? Our dd is a very fussy sleeper and I'm worried that she would not take to such a 'strange' bed.

I recently went abroad and the travel cot we have (Graco) put us way over our travel weight so we borrowed one from DH's relatives and I took my own travel cot matress and sheets - you can buy a coolmax matress from Mothercare for about £25. It fitted a treat into the suitcase and that way we saved on the weight issue but I was reassured that DS was sleeping on a matress that was safe, unslept on by other children, clean etc....worth a thought!

Just wondering about the tent type cots again. Does anyone have any experience of what happens if your child decides to stand up and start shaking things up a little.

Has anyone ever used one of the little life ones? How did your LO sleep?
Good idea or no?
