I know white goods are inherently deeply dull, but...

Would anyone like to recommend me a fridge-freezer? Main requirements are big (I'm thinking 6ft) half and half with fridge on top. Don't need fancy features, but must be frost-free and good quality.

Thanks [hopeful emoticon]

We have a fantastic Zanussi one which is huge in height, but not in width - so not like those double American ones. Got a great deal ordering on the net after doing much research in terms of walking round shops assessing how much cubic feet is how much........

Another hotpoint frost free here. Ours has extra deep shelves in the door, so you can fit 4-litre milk bottle in without turning them sideways.

Thank you, this is all useful info. I was assuming that we'd have to go for brands like Bosch or Siemens to get the best product, but maybe not?

White goods are so deeply confusing -- you look at websites with what appear to be 52 identical fridge-freezers (or dishwashers, we're looking for one of those too) and the prices range from £299 to £1000+ without any obvious rhyme or reason. (Though at the £1000+ level I'd be expecting it to do the cooking as well as storing the food!).

Ethical Consumer rates Hoover and Candy highest, FWIW.
