Big Trampolines - should I choose cheap or expensive?

I am thinking of buying a large circular trampoline but there is a big variation in price from around £150 to £600 plus for a 12-14 footer.

Is it worth paying more, does anyone know, or is a cheap one eg from Argos of serviceable quality?

Are those prices with or without safety nets/enclosures, Posy? They go for around £300 (plus postage) with safety nets, on Ebay.

May I tag on the question: should we get a Wendy house or a trampoline for 3 children under 5? To get both would cost so much....

this weeks woman magazine has an article on cheap v expensive garden toys if thats any help

The frame, bed and springs of most trampolines are all of a fairly good standard. The difference is in the cushion which covers the springs. The best trampoline available is the Supertramp, around £600, of which £268 is the cushion!!
The next best is the TP. Have not seen the Argos one. The cushions all look the same when new but the life span of the cheaper cushion will be typically 3 years.

Zebra, we have both, and I should say the playhouse as we manufacture them but without question the tramploine is used more.

PH, if you had been my mum buying me a big trampoline - I would have put you on a pedestal and never misbehaved ever.........

DH and I were saying the other night that one of the biggest things we both desperately wanted as kids was a trampoline! (and to go camping with the parents)

posyhairdresser · 26/07/2004 17:12

Highlander - that makes any price seem too cheap!!!
I would find camping much tougher though - have you done this with your klds?

I will have to read up on the Woman magazine article! Thanks for that tip!

I am not thinking of getting the safety net BTW

we bought a "trampolines GB" one via Ebay, it had a price in the local garden centre of £299
, we paid "£142 for it, as it was such a good deal then rang up and bought another for a friend, fabulous piece of kit- 12'
if I've got the receipt I'll dig iut the contact no, they may let you buy direct if you'r interested, like we did for the second one, rather than go thro' ebay
