trampolines

I'm thinking about trying to persuade dh to buy a big trampoline for our kids. If we buy one with safety net how much space do we need round the edges? We have a terraced garden on four levels and I'm not sure if we have enough room. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Our trampoline's net doesn't take up anymore room than the trampoline. One thing to bear it mind is if you order a say 10ft trampoline you only get 8ft jumping space as there is 1ft of padding all the way round the edge.

We got ours (10ft) from argos complete with sides and are very pleased with it.

B & Q are doing 8' trampolines complete with nets for 120 right now! They also do a 12 foot model which is a bit more expensive and the screen is extra.

Thanks Furball and miljee. What I really need to know is how far away from a fence or wall does a screen need to be? Obviously they give a bit but I'm not sure how much. I'll have a look at the b&q web. Just need to convince dh that we need a few more things for kids to do in the garden. Moneywise I suppose you pay for quality or is it much of a much?

8ft is too small imo.

We have a 12ft (I think) with net all the way around and it is fab. All 3 of our kids (and us) have had hours of fun from it. It has more than paid for itself from a play-value pov. There is nothing else we could have bought that would have been equal fun and equally used by our kids as they have a large age gap (DS1 is nearly 15, DS2 is 13.5 and DD is 4.5)

We've had ours all over our garden in various spots and it's currently quite near a fence. Anywhere seems to be fine. I promise you if you do get one you won't need anything else for the garden.

Best toy every invented -- they are on it constantly in all weathers, all year round.

We didn't buy a top of the range TP one, ours is a Mad Dash (the top of the range one they do), it was half the price of the TP and the build quality is excellent.

Ours is at the top of the garden and pro stands about 3 or 4 feet from the nearest fence, but I guess it could go closer if required.
