Help please for DD, who has pulled the arms off her first and only polly pocket doll. I would like to get her another one but was not sure if they are all the same? Hers has magnets on her back and front and the clothes come in two pieces and cling on by magnetic power. The one i saw in tesco today didn't seem to be like this though. Any suggestions/advice welcome. TIA

There are magnetic ones and non-magnetic- if you get a non-magnetic one then your existing clothes won't work. Good luck

LIZS · 19/04/2007 17:59

Tehre are at least 2 sorts - the magnetic kind and a more regular doll which wears rubbery clothes , that split . Yours is a Quick-Click

laughingduck · 19/04/2007 18:01

2nd others, you need a quick click doll. Lizs, I have successfully managed to superglue the rubber polly clothes so that they can be played with once more.

Thanks, will look out for a quick click one

picked up a couple of sets, at reduced price, today. Strangely compelling stuff isn't it?

Oh Bu**er, that's why they were cheap
Should they not have been on sale at all?

More deadly toys on sale The number of deadly toys found on sale in Britain doubled last year as the increasing volume of Chinese imports brought an influx of games and gifts that could poison, suffocate or choke children, according to a report from the European Commission. It says even trusted brands such as Mattel and Ladybird, and retailers such as Argos, were forced to withdraw products deemed to put children at serious risk. The dangers were highlighted by one Chinese-made toy marketed by Mattel and sold in Argos that left three children needing hospital operations to remove magnets that they had swallowed. Polly Pocket magnetic playsets were the subject of 170 complaints in Britain before they were withdrawn.

You should be able to check what was recalled - the PP list is here . It is very unlikely those sets would still be on sale at any reputable retailer and if it transpires they are , report to Trading Standards asap.

thanks LIZS, outr stuff not on list. DD is not one for putting toys in her mouth, so don't think i'll get too stressed about it.
