for Saturday as we're off to Kiddicare in Peterborough to spend the £500 Maternity Grant.

I initially wanted to get a Bugaboo - but realised I couldn't justify the expense - so I think I've decided on the Hauck Infinity (the one that comes with carrycot and carseat). However I could change my mind once I've 'tried it out' on Saturday - what other ones should I look at while I'm there??? Any other suggestions - anything under £300.

Also need to buy a cot mattress (pretty straightforward) and other 'general' baby bits (mainly stuff for my hospital bag - you know breastpads, babygros, muslins those sorts of things).

Not buying anything that isn't 'essential' but mind has gone totally blank as to what I should buy........and I'm going to have nearly £200 to blow !!!

Come on MN'ers help me decide what to buy from Kiddicare on my 'grand day out' on Saturday [grin[

re buggies - do you mostly walk / drive / get public transport? Have you a large boot?
Try folding it in the shop - some of them are a royal pain.

Does the Hauck carseat fit your car properly? Not all fit all cars so it'd be a false economy to buy it just cos it's bundled with the pram.

The Mothercare Maui is the same price and same kind of deal if you wanted a direct comparison.

I love my nappy wrapper - do you have one?

Buggy - If you travel alot, make sure it isn't to heavy. Mine was fine with the carrycot on, with the seat on the base it was so heavy, my husband had to bey me another buggy.

It'll be mostly me using the pram/pushchair/buggy (whatever you want to call it LOL), and almost exclusively walking - it will on rare occasions go into the boot (so we intend to check it folds down small enough on Saturday - hence me insisting on a day trip to PEterborough rather than ordering online). ditto the car seat - that needs to be checked to make it fits too.

Just wanted an idea of what other pushchairs (that Kiddicare stocks) to look at........or we'll be all day just looking at them LOL.

ahh - had a nappy wrapper for DS2 (perhaps should mention that this is DC3 ) and was hardly used......

Nappy wrapper huge waste of money IMO too...

Also try the Micralite, the Buzz, the Silver Cross Freeway and the Britax Vigour 4 (some of those you have to buy the carrycot seperately),
and as you're mostly walking don't get hung up on having a carseat that clips on to the chassis - better to get a really safe one that fits your car properly (the MaxiCosi Cabrio and the Britax Cosy Tot usually top the safety chart)

I think on carseats we're going to be slightly limited as to what we can actually get - we have a ford fiesta which already has a booster seat and a Stage 2 car seat in the back so doubt we'll be able to get one with that's very wide.

Oh blimey - can't believe it's only 7 weeks until DS3 arrives !
