I am desperate for a new barbie but want one with a rotisserie-all the ones I have seen so far have the rotisserie so low all you would be able to cook on them are sausages.

I want to be able to do whole joints

Love the idea of being able to fold one up though and put in the shed for the Winter...

Ponce · 16/04/2007 12:06

do you think people ever do rotisseries

Probably not because the damn things are too low....
Am a complete barbecue ponce, never use the cooker in the Summer and some things are just better cooked on a rotisserie although I do do a mean leg of lamb on the babrie without one.

But it is gas, that's no good. I really don't get them. You might as well bung it in the oven. We have a big round one from bandQ, only £50 and I just stick a patio set cover over it in winter. I love that smokey charcoal smell.

Nbg · 16/04/2007 12:12

£180!!!!
Blimey.
What wrong with the £9.99 jobbies from B&Q, lol.

MrsBadger · 16/04/2007 12:18

I love gas barbecues because you can say 'shall we barbecue dinner?' then 10min later be doing it. No lighting charcoal and waiting for it to burn to ash before cooking.
Agree cod's is quite a poncey one though - ours is a £30 B&Q job.

We have a fire pit thingy for getting smokey and smelly round, not for cooking on.

I really don't udnerstand how the gas ones taste the same. We put damp woodchips on ours to give the food a smokey taste, you can't do that with gas, surely.
