Have you any ideas for a christening present for baby twin girl and boy. We are godparents so something nice would be good but not too dear as the parents have said not too much fuss. They didn't have an idea either!

A nice candle with name and info of date etc?

If you're anywhere near a Bridgewater Pottery Cafe, you could paint a bowl/cup anything yourself. My only other suggestion is one of their birthstones. DH and I have done this for each of our three godchildren, the idea being that you give the stone for the Christening and get it made up into whatever for their 18th/21st. We did this because we were totally skint and the stones themselves don't cost that much - we hope we'll be a bit better off in 15 years time or so!! BUT - cost depends on what the birthstone is - blue topaz (November) was dead affordable for a nice sized pair (Missis!) but I nearly fell over when I went to buy rubies (July). Ended up buying a garish pair of ruby earrings in horrid settings and taking out the stones.

What about a time capsule, to be opened at 18 or 21. You could put in photos, newspapers, current music, money, poetry etc whatever is current really. Ive done this a couple of times, it doesnt cost much but takes alot of thought which is really appreciated and will be something novel for them to look back on.

I got a friends dd a nappy pin with some charms on it. It's by Kit Heath and you can pick from loads of different charms. You can get them at that website that had the competition (City Of Love I think) and they should have a mumsnet discount.

The link for City of Marvels is Kit Heath jewellery

The discount code is mn0504 on the basket

I got my friend's twins a lovely set of wooden carved book ends as a christening present ... wasn't their godmother though ...
How about tooth fairy boxes ... I got one of those for my nephew who is also my godson.

If it was me, I'd prefer something more practical than a silver trinket - maybe a children's bible or a nice special book each they could keep?
