Is there a difference? If so, what are the differences and which would you recomend?

I think it's just the weight and size. Mine have DS Lites and they work in exactly the same way AFAIK- certainly use the same games, so I would go for the Lites, personally

DS is the old version and DS Lite is newer, smaller and I think the battery lasts abit longer than the old version. My 2 dc got them last year, ds wanted the lite one and dd got the other as she liked the look of it (and it was cheaper) otherwise they both play the same games and have the same functions.

Excellent, so I can get DH to save up and buy me a lite for my birthday in July

Then keep saving to get new games, they cost a fortune and ds always only likes the ones that cost nearly 40 euro! Nintendogs was worth that price though if you want any tips!

Mainly style, but the lite has changeable brightness on the screen light, the stylus storage is better, some button placement has changed.

Thanks, will hint about the Ndogs game. I quite fancy the brain training too.

If you know anyone going to the US get themto get some games there- we've just been and they were mostly around $28, so about half the price.

admylin · 15/04/2007 12:44

Ds will be getting Brain academy or Brain training on his birthday to counteract the rubbish game he wants to buy with his own money (one of the mario ones)

burstingbug · 15/04/2007 12:49

I don't think Mario is for me
I don't know of anyone going to the US apart from people at work. May ask one of them, but feel a bit cheeky.
Should I steer clear of ebayor is it worth a look for games on there?

The DS Lite will be really out of date by the time the kids will be able to play with it. They'll want the latest model! They're only 26mths & 8mths.

Ds loves Mario too, but he really loves Brain Training aswell. Dd has a brain age of 74 , bless her.

Dropped huge hints again that a DS Lite would be nice and that he doesn't have to wait til my birthday to get it for me
