Can someone find me a sling which I can BF in that won't make me look like a weaver of lenticles?

What precisely is wrong with looking like a weaver of anything?

(sorry can't help, I like the Huggababy - could you just tie one from a length of the kind of fabric you want?)

SpawnChorus · 14/04/2007 09:33

How about a hugabub?

There is a breastfeeding position - never worked for me cos DS was enormously big/long from birth (10lb 9oz) and I couldn't align him with my nork, but others seem to manage!

SoupDragon · 14/04/2007 09:37

Kimmer or Coorie? Although they don't seem to have many Kimmers at the moment, usually there are more designs - I've got the plain jersy one in the picture

and

zolowear

rockin´ baby pouches

SoupDragon · 14/04/2007 09:39

(I use a variety of pouch slings and I am far from being a lentil weaver. I'm more of a 5* silk thread weaver kind of person)

You can make pouches fairly easily. I've made a few. It's easiest in fleece as it doesn't fray. My Kimmer is out on loan ATM or I'd send you that for you to try.

babasling? fab colours!

Jacanne · 14/04/2007 11:24

Rockin' baby slings are lovely - there are some \link {http://www.sasaslings.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5_28&products_id=45\here}that are not at all hiipyish and they are adjustable so you don't have sizing issues

Jacanne · 14/04/2007 11:26

ooh that link didn't work - something to do with stroppy 2 year old wriggling on my lap I think. I'll try again

Megg - Misdee was aking about your DS - there's a thread for you

SpawnChorus · 14/04/2007 21:08

I have to say, much though I adore my Hugabub, I do think that £50 is a cheek. It is just a very long piece of t-shirty material. They must be making a phenomenal mark-up. I'd be v happy to measure it for you if you wanted to make one.

sybela slings has a sale on. for a 4.8 meter wrap the price is good. the fabric will last well into the wearing days.

funnypeculiar · 14/04/2007 21:16

may I just show off mine ?

SpawnChorus · 14/04/2007 21:19

Yes it is. It's slightly tapered at each end, but tbh I don't think that makes any difference. It also has a square 'patch' sewn to the middle (the contrasting colour in the pics) which you stuff the sling into for storage. Again, not necessary per se, but would prob be v easy to do. It's in DS's room at the moment, and I'm too chicken to sneak in there at the moment, but will measure it tomorrow

Actually, Soupy's link probably has all the necessary info, but I'll measure mine anyway for the purposes of comparison

I'm looking for a wrap too. I tried a friend's Kari-me on and decided that's the type thing I want but am now worried about how hot it might be. Baby is due in mid-June then we're going to Australia for a month at Christmas.

I've got really confused with all the different kinds of wrap available. What I want is a wrap that's comfy, I can put on then slot in the baby, won't make me or the baby overheat too much and will fit people of different shapes and sizes. Had a wilkinet for DD1 but DH hated it and he likes the idea of a wrap so it needs to be suitable for him to wear too. Can anyone enlighten me as to which one I should go for?
