Has anyone bought one of these for their toddler?

Thinking of getting one for DS' 3rd birthday but wondered how long it would be before he became bored.

Any opinions would be great

The middle Leappad (not the baby one, not the older one) has been massively popular in our house -dd1 loved it and now so does dd2 (20 months). dd1 (4) has the older leappad and also likes it although its not as easy to hold as the middle one (is it my first Leappad? Or is that the baby one?).

My only advice would be not to go mad buying lots of books, dd1 has one disney princess book and that has kept her going all year.

I'm the opposite to enid (btw are you the 'real' enid or a new one?), my ds played with it for 5 minutes and lost interest. But he is easily frustrated and might take more interest if I get it out again now he can read. You can try them in ELC I think and see what you think.

ooh no I am the real one, I got my name back!

I must say the easier Leappad has more instant play value - just don't make the mistake of thinking they are educational! We think of them as My First Playstation

Oh glad to hear it, would hate to think I was talking to some inferior upstart new enid Agree about it being my first Playstation!

Thanks for the advice
Must admit that I have gone off the idea of getting one a little.

Shall invest in yet more paper books, and possibly a CD-Rom or two.

Thanks

Just in case anyone is interested, woolworths is currently doing the Leappad books at half price, so £5.99 instead of £11.99.

Discovered it totally by accident this morning when shopping for a last minute birthday pressie, and promptly bought a load of 'older' age ones for DS1 to keep him quiet during the holidays.
