Diptyque, definitely. I dragged dp round Paris looking for the shop, duly purchased, then came home & discovered they sell them in a shop 5 minutes down the road from us. I haven't told him....

Definitely Jo Malone - they are expensive but they last for ages and ages. My favourites are Grapefruit, Lime Blossom and Wild Fig & Cassis. Gorgeous. You do need to remember to trim the wick after each burn for maximum candle life - just remove the 'cauliflower' which appears at the top of the burnt wick. You can get them mail order here .
Diptyque are also really nice and I would imaging the Miller Harris ones are nice too. Enjoy!

I meant imagine not imaging.....
Agree with PrincessPeaHead about all the others smelling yucky - it is worth the extra money and think of it as an investment....you'll get so much pleasure from a great fragranced home.

I wouldn't normally go for cheap candles, but The Pier do ones called Spiced Peach (or something similar) which smell lovely, and not at all synthetic.
