I have already got the 'contented little baby book' and recently saw the next edition 'from contented baby to confident child'. I just wanted to know if anyone has read it and if it is any good or much the same as the first one. DS has just turned one that's why I'm asking. Thx

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago (my ds is 8 months) and I am not sure that I would recomend it. It covers a lot of stuff in the first book and the stuff on potty training, tantrums etc is the same as that in other books. Maybe it will of more use later on.

Kanesmum, I posted a few weeks back saying that I had read the "from contented baby to confident child" and was a bit disappointed. I followed the routines in the CLBB although not to the letter and generally felt that it was a lifesaver. My dd will be one in two weeks and I was interested to see what advice GF gave for older babies and toddlers. I found that there was far too much repetition i.e there is quite a significant section of the book describing wind in breast fed babies, sleeping problems for young babies which is all covered in CLBB. I was interested to read bits and pieces of advice for say babies aged 12 months to 18 months. I wasn't looking for strictly structured routines for that age but a general guideline. Of course a few anti GF people posted saying why on earth did I need a book to tell me what to do with a 12 month old....of course I don't but I did find alot of her advice really beneficial and as a first time mum I was lacking in experience and confidence. It doesn't come naturally to all of us

I wouldnt buy it at the moment, I was really disappointed that it repeats all the birth-12m stuff and has a bit for older children but nothing to advise with a 12mo.

Thanks for the comments. I had a quick flick through one today in town and noticed that it had some repetition in it. Think I will give it a miss. I don't need the book but just wanted to see if there was anything beneficial I could use.
