I am thinking of getting one of these as they look fab, pack up small and the steering is excellent. But am not sure how comfy it is because the seat does not recline. Can someone help please? My dd is now 7 months so will need to sleep when we are out. I do have in icoo platon so the zapp is for shopping trips and holidays.

I am actually really suprised people buy these.
The fact it doesnt recline, has no shopping basket and is really light makes me think its just utter rubbish.

I wouldnt get it if your dd is 7 months. You say you'd want it for shopping but where would you put it all?

Flamesparrow · 04/04/2007 10:13

DS never seems to have much of an issue with the lack of reclining, but it has no basket underneath which makes it a bit cr*ppy for shopping trips

kittypants · 04/04/2007 10:14

i had one but sold it as no recline which i thought i could do without but couldnt and no basket.also i have 2 older children, whenever they held handles as we walked it tipped,it tips so easily!

beanie2bump · 04/04/2007 10:16

the back wheels stick out as well, its crap

DS is 8 months old and big boy, but I'm still not convinced he is big enough for the Zapp. We have tried it a couple of times since buying it, and ds seems happy enough, but I'm still going to wait awhile before using it.

However it does handle really well and is great around town, so when he is bigger it is going to be great.

Oh, and you can buy nets to put on the handles and frame off Ebay.

I use mine for school runs - its easy to yank out, and was about the only thing that fitted in a fiesta

don't start me on the zapp! i went down a kirb and it started to fold up!!! again- very expensive for what it is imo. there are similar ones that do recline and fold up small- have a look around before settling on the zapp- the only thing i loved was the quinny footmuff, its like a mummy-style sleeping bag!

issyissyissy · 04/04/2007 10:23

Thanks for that. I was concerned about the reclining, but hadn't thought about my ds holding it and it tipping, lol! Back to the drawing board I think, any suggestions? I cant seem to find a small one that will tick all boxes.

bebe confort vit? not really seen it but aparently similar.

issyissyissy · 04/04/2007 10:27

I need it really for short trips around town and holidays, so needs to be fairly light and easy to fold. My car boot is quite big so space is not a problem. Also needs to be easy to steer. Sorry for this but I cannot find one and it is driving me mad, not to mention my dh who is sick of talking about them, lol !!

I loved it initially as it is so much lighter than our Jane one but it does tip very easily, and the no basket thing is VERY irritating.

I found it was best when we had it without the fabric sling and with the Maxi Cosi carseat on the chassis - THAT was excellent.

DS doesn't seem to care that it doesn't recline, he sleeps very well in it, but I wouldn't get one again.

LazyLine · 04/04/2007 10:32

I liked the look of them but whenever I see them on display I am always shocked by how cheap and flimsy they feel. Mind you, the same goes for most ridiculously expensive buggies and prams.

laughingduck · 04/04/2007 11:24

I loved mine - we bought it when ds2 was 8 months old. It was great for holidays last year and ds really seemed to like it a lot, even sleeping in it more often than our E3 or Maclaren. I really thought it would come into its own when ds was 18 months or so as it was light to push and easy to do one handed so good for when they want a little walk. ds, however, hated it by this point as length wise the seat was too short for him. He used to flail around in it when I did get him strapped in but really it just wasn't up to the job of carrying a toddler. It felt flimsy up and down kerbs too. I have sold mine recently and am now on the look out for something better for him. I am considering a Maclaren Volo as our Techno Classic has done really well so far and is very durable, just bulky for the car/hols.

I love mine. My 3 year old still fits in it no probs and it is so easy to push him in, even one handed around supermarket.
You do get used to the 'tipping up' thing. I've carried 6 bags of messages on the handles home from supermarket with it. Sore arms when I got home right enough.
But I'd def say it was a toddler buggy. I wouldn't put a child under a year in it because of the lack of recline.

Oh and red ones are reduced to £99.99 at PHP just now.
