where to go for girls 100% cotton duvet covers?

I've been checking the department store websites but haven't found anything that inspires me.
DD is going into a bed for the first time so I really want to get it right so that she's excited and happy about moving out of the cot. She has plain bedroom walls with butterfly transfers in lilac/pink and she has a deeper colour lilac butterfly clock.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

La redoute do a 100% cotton rage in loads of colours.
also recently bought a fitted sheet in Asda which is all cotton.not from george range, but 'the best' range- it's very good quality.

I was going to recommend La Redoute too. Also (a bit more expensive) The White Company , and Laura Ashley .

PestoEasterMonster · 04/04/2007 09:31

I got nice circus themed ones from Ikea (with a white background).

elasticbandstand · 04/04/2007 09:31

johnlewis,
why cottnthough? itwill need ironing..

PestoEasterMonster · 04/04/2007 09:31

They were dead cheap too

JackieNo · 04/04/2007 09:32

I have a feeling that Ikea ones may be a slightly different shape to the 'normal' ones - they fit the Ikea duvets. Best to check the dimensions, though I think you'd probably get away with it.

JackieNo · 04/04/2007 09:36

Just had a look, and the Ikea ones are 150 X 200 cm, and the laura Ashley ones are 137 X 200 cm, so the Ikea ones are a bit wider, which would mean normal duvets would fit fine, just have a bit of extra fabric at the sides.

I picked up one in good old M&S while I was old this morning and I'm now about to trundle the various websites that you have suggested and then I'll try TK Maxx and Asda later in the week.

cremeggafoam · 04/04/2007 15:53

cece i have that pink gingham one too- it is very good quality I think and really pretty.
I know you got something in M&S mckenzie but i forgot to mention vertbaudet as i was in a hurry this morning.some really delicious prints here
Also lots of room accessories to go with each print.
so sad dd now wants her room painted black with skull motif accessories.
make the most of when they are little!

mckenzie · 04/04/2007 20:13

I cant find a pink gingahm one on the Argos site - is it perhaps not current?
I have just ordered a lovely one though from Verbaudet so thanks for that tip.
Unfortunately i had time to look at the site for a while and have ended up buying DS some new clothes as well

Ikea as others have said, so cheap.
If you are worried about the ironing go for the Ikea jersey type ones. They don't need ironing.
