we bought a small one when the children were toddlers at m & s for £35 and it was too small to last long. Last year bought a big one from the seaside for £10 and it's much better!

does it have a uv filter, but then i suppose we never know whether they do or not?

theres a lot of them about of varying quality... look for one with a (clamed) high UV protection factor and also note the size - esp if buying online. some are tto small to be of much use at all...

cant remember where we got ours though! (that would just be too helpful i guess)

clamed does of course mean claimed

The ELC one was awful. 1 puff of wind and it dismantles. There is a nice looking one in Jo Jo. I'm trying to work out if it's worth buying another. Mine are 2 &3, wondering if uv suiting and hats would be better. They don't sit in them long do they.

I got an excellent one from Mothercare. They come in three sizes, the smallest two (baby and toddler sizes) have built-in groundhseets, but the family-size one I bought does not. Apart from being absolutely no good in strong wind, it's very usefull. I like the fact that there are no poles to thread etc, but it just pops up and twists back down to pack away in no time at all.
