I want to put it up on an exsisting 4ft fence. Will be pinning it along the exsisting fence, do you think it would work or is it too flimsy ??

here

Obviously it is taller than exsisting fence which is why I need to know if it is too flimsy.

Hmmmmmmm perhaps I should just buy one roll to start with and see if it is any good then.

the people a few doors down have it all the way round their garden (our gardens are tiny, maybe 20x12 feet). I think it's attached to concrete poles in the ground - it looks very nice and seems quite sturdy (maybe it's the way it's been put in the ground).

Mine would just be pinned with panel pins all the way down and along exsisting fence, but obviously about 2 ft of it at the top would not be attatched to anything at all.

I just really need something to stop the dogs from next door being able to see the kids and the cat and also to stop next doors kids pestering us all of the time.

i would give ity a go... can you pop down to homebase or something and look at some stuff in the flesh as it were? then you can judge how sturdy you think the toip unsupported bit would be...?

i would gamble on it working myself. and if the fence youre attaching it to is sturdy enough...

its not a spot to suffer from high winds is it? if it was always a really windy spot, it might need more support...

it's a good idea nutty - I can't see through it (into their garden) at all and it's quite high (too high to peep over iyswim).

just put similar in our garden and hubby just finnishing it - looks great, willow - looks ok.

Try it - if you buy one roll and hate it, it makes an excellent BBQ starter!

I have this along my fence, it is flimsy but fine when attached to a sturdy fence I used cable clip pins to attach as panel pins don't hold it.

For supporting the top bit you could put thick canes in the gound and use mini cable ties to tie attach the fence to the canes, shouldn't waggle about too much.

The other thing you could do is nail a vertical bit of wood about 3 foot long along your fence post - leaving 2 foot sticking out above your fence post. That way, at every fence post the screen can be attached to the vertical bit of wood, providing extra stability.

Does that make sense??
