Double buggies and London buses ...

Is P&T the only option? There are quite a few things I find off putting about the P&T, but it really seems the only sensible option for taking on buses. Tandems are solong and side by sides are presumably too wide to allow another pushchair to get on the bus? Or am I mistaken and there are other options? DS is a late walker and there will be a 23 mo gap, and I am not convinced I would do well with a sling. It would be great to have another pushchair to consider if anyone gets on well with theirs.

Marco sky or similar?

Jane Powertwin is an alternative to P&T. I love my P&T but was lucky to be bought a Jane when my twins were born. Not sure which I'll keep when they get to six months but used both easily on the bus.

Side by side eg maclaren is fine if you go thru the middle doors. I had 23 mth gap and had an Emmaljunga pram with toddler seat- no bigger than a single pram, fab for baby and toddler, and shit loads of shopping room underneath. Jane look pretty good have never had one tho.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies, I guess I need to get myself down to a department store and have a look at some rather than just checking them out on internet or looking at what people are pushing. I haven't really seen many double buggies on buses and worry about taking up all the space. Had heard of Jane but had it in my head that it would be too expensive, had never heard of Emmaljunga pram sounds interesting and I know Macro sky is supposed to be light etc but thought it might not be good for the small baby. Aargh it is sooo much harder than choosing a single buggy but its good to know I dont have to buy a P&T.
