How much do you pay for a Grobag?

Just wondering how much a Grobag costs in the UK .....
I have finally found a stockist here in NZ but am reeling at the cost of $100 for a 2.5 tog quilted Grobag ... that is around 35 pounds (don't have a pound sign on my keyboard!) but $100 dollars goes a lot further than 35 quid IYKWIM!!!
If it was cheaper than that in the UK I might get my sister to buy me one and send it to me ...

TIA

Depends where you buy it from and whether it is a branded grobag....I paid about £18.00 for mine from kiddicare.com, but tchibo.co.uk also do one for £4.99!! Nothing wrong with it - but it is LARGE!! (ie not really any good until the babe is at least 1 year up....) Mothercare and toysrus also sell them at between £20-25....

John Lewis have them for about £21 so similar to kiddicare once you have included the postage.

We've got the £4.99 Tchibo one , and my smaller-than-average 6 month-old is fine in it. It is very long, but that just means extra fabric at the bottom -- there's plenty of room round her tummy, but it's not so loose I'd worry about her slipping right down inside it. It's relatively light, so would do for all seasons.

If any of your friends live near a Tchibo, I would get them to buy a couple while they still have them in stock -- you can't go wrong at that price!

i got a new one from ebay for about £15 and i have also bought one from vertbaudet for around £15 aswell

Piffleoffagus · 16/07/2004 23:23

try ebay... candide ar excellent as a bradn in my opinion superior to grobag, they go for cheaper than grobag on Ebay too...

Piffleoffagus · 16/07/2004 23:24

What size were you wantingI have a 3-6 mths sort of size girls gingham lilac one here as new as my dd preferred the tuck em up bedding
let me know - happy to help a fellow kiwi

Piffleoffagus · 16/07/2004 23:25

ps it is an offical grobag too! 2 - 2.5 tog

btw I don't think kiddicare.com charge postage&packing so their price is good for branded grobags. Not sure if they deliver overseas though.

Thanks everyone ....
Piffle ... thanks for the offer, I would gladly take you up on it only DD is 5 months and GINORMOUS - off the centile scale, so I am looking for a 6 - 18 months one ...
Hmmm ... so what is the difference between the branded grobags and the cheaper ones??

Personally having got both an 'official' and a tchibo I'd say maybe the quality of the material isn't quite as good (but we are not talking a huge difference here...) and bearing in mind you can buy 4 tchibo's for the price of one grobag you could always have a couple and rotate them.....Have to admit I haven't used my tchibo ones (ds is too small at the moment...) so I haven't washed them....anyone else know how they launder?
Have to say everything else I have had from tchibo has been good quality and has laundered well...

TK Maxx have 2.5 tog sleeping bags for 9.99 in a variety of sizes if your sister can get to one

Hayls · 17/07/2004 13:39

Hi Ghosty. Asda also do grobags for £10. I bouhgt a lightweight one for summer and although i haven't used it much yet it seems Ok. I also have a grobag one that I love. (and a couple from Tk Maxx that I found were a bit too big-dd kept sliding down inside them1)
