do you use a face moisturiser at night?

I have used various products over the years but now mainly use Dr Hauschka and Eve Lom. They advise not to use a moisturiser at night. what do you think? my skin is not as lovely as it used to be and I don't want to end up a haggered old wrinkly cow by not using cream at night!
would welcome your thoughts.
thanks.

I do.A Clarins night cream-find face feels much better with it but it probably makes little difference to appearance..
Since DD arrived I have also started using , (whispers), eye cream..(I am only 27 and previously considered eye cream to be only for the over 40's, but dark rings and lines round eyes due to lack of sleep beg to differ!)
If you dont want to use night cream regularly try this once in a while when you feel your skin needs a pick me up.. Before going to bed slather on a load of Beauty Flash Balm, (also Clarins) in a relativley thick layer-you dont need much if you use it daily but for extra intensive boost apply like a mask. This works wonders for me when I need an extra boost..
(I dont work for Clarins by the way-just a bit of a devotee)

I swear by Champneys eye gel and a generous layer of Astral.

Golly, I couldn't NOT use a moisturiser at night, or in the morning, for that matter. I though night-time was when you needed it? do you remember the old adverts with whats-her-name, the newsreader, Ann someone. She said 'Night time is a magical time. Use X (can't remember what it was, Nivea?).

Anyway, my secret product - and please don't laugh - is from Lidl, their own make. Stop laughing!!! I bought it one day when I had run out & was in there - has fancy packaging without the fancy price. (I think it's £1.99, would expect to pay £5 in Boots) Anyway, when it ran out and I used something else I really noticed the difference, so I use the day cream too now, and stock up with three boes of each at a time!

Boxes. Sorry.

scootermum · 28/03/2007 21:26

Really?I might give it a go..Cant really justify the Clarins much longer as second baby on the way and need to save a few quid for that..Thanks for the tip!

Marshmellow · 28/03/2007 21:28

Agree, i couldn't be without mine. I always cleanse, tone and moisturise at night and in the morning. I don't have fantastic skin but just keep thinking what it would be like if i didn't do this routine!! I would always recommend a night cream. Roc is fabulous, expensive but does last as only small bit needed. Clarins is also great

babygrand · 28/03/2007 21:30

I don't use anything like that at night - just in the morning. I do clean off my make-up though (if any).

multitasker · 29/03/2007 09:03

Whats the name of that Lidl cream TearingHO? I'm all on for a bargain.

MrsBadger · 29/03/2007 09:05

No, but then my skin is oily and the last thing it needs is extra grease.

FirstAtForty · 29/03/2007 23:30

Didn't used to but over the last year or so have been using Body Shop Vitamin E night cream (after cleansing with a facial wipe). It smells lovely (quite 'rosey' like the Dr Hauschka one).

notsoladyjess · 30/03/2007 13:29

thanks for your responses - i am still unclear but reckon i will see how my skin feels. using teh eve lom cleanser does leave skin feeling hydrated so maybe no need for moisturiser (just getting paranoid as now 36 and find my skin just getting older!).

thanks!

yes

i apply moisturiser every morning and evening

OrvilleRedenbacher · 30/03/2007 18:46

nivea blue

NomDePlume · 30/03/2007 18:48

Yes, Body Shop Jojoba night cream.

NomDePlume · 30/03/2007 18:50

I like the vitamin E eye cream form the Body Shop, I found the night cream too heavy.

squidette · 30/03/2007 18:52

i wash my face with honey and OCM about 3 times a week. I use a teeny bit of Olive Oil as a moisturiser, but its really important to massage it into the skin, not just leave it as a film on the surface.

My skin has never been as soft or smooth as it is now. I thought it was a mad idea, but it works!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 30/03/2007 19:48

currently using nivea DNAge nightcream which is pretty rich, have used clarins and clinique night lotions in the past adn wouldn't be without something - I call it my anti witch cream, if only it were really that powerful

tearinghairout · 31/03/2007 20:33

Sorry, went to bed. The Lidl cream is called... drumroll... Iseree Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream Q10, and there's the same for day,Day Cream Q10. It comes in a little box, the day cream box is white & the night cream box is dark blue. Anti-wrinkle doesn't sound very glam, does it? Anyway, they also do others, I think there's a sensitive skin one as well. Which would you go for if you had sensitive skin but didn't want wrinkles? That's a head-scratcher!

scootermum · 31/03/2007 20:55

Exactly fiofio, how can the excess alcohol come out of your pores if you just go and block them up?

brimfull · 31/03/2007 20:59

does anyone else find it leaves them with a greasy fringe in the morning though??
Shall I have to start wearing a hair net??
