Any recommendations or "whatever you do don't buy...." for beakers or cups.

DD is 6 months and fancied giving it a go over summer holidays.

I think Avent Magic spout is highly rated.
Probably too young for an Anyway Up cup (my DD managed it, but plenty don't ever, or not until long over 1yo).

ive just bought my 6 mths old ds a avent magic cup its ok he drinks out of it fine but went into town this morning and found it had leaked abit but to be honest havent found a cup yet that doesnt somehow!!lol

I always got screw on tops after early mistakes with pull off ones. They always need too much pulling and then come off suddenly spilling the drink everywhere!

We've used a Magic Cup for dd, amongst various cast off from ds. You can remove the valve so it is free flowing or use it so that it is a non-leak sippy cup. The spout is soft too which is comforting if they are teething. If you use the valve be careful about cleaning it though as stuff gets trapped and even water causes black marks (I've not used it for milk with valve becasue of this). ds was well over a year before he got the hang of Anyway Up but had various free flowing Tommee Tippee and 1st Years ones.

We had great success with the Heinz 2 handled cups, you can get them at Boots, they have a lid for travelling around and when baby is ready they become a normal cup so last ages. The worst buy I made was the Tommee Tippee anyway up cup - I even struggled to get the liquid out!!!

Thank you everyone

I rememebred I have a magic cup in the cupboard so I will give this a go first.

Any other suggestions more than welcome

My HV is recommending 'free flow' cups rather than suctions ones ... we're finding the little Heinz one great.

Also using the Heinz one from Boots and agree that it's very good. They do a 4 month one and a 7 month.
