Babyliss hair buffer, good or bad?

Okay, I have alway shaved my legs. My one and only experience of waxing was to go straight for a bikini wax - big mistake. I haven't tried wax since.
So I went to buy an epilator today but being the biggest wuss in the world decided against it and placed it back on the shelf!
Now how about the Babyliss hair buffer? The assistant in Boots said they have sold hundreds, they can't keep them on the shelf! Which was to explain why they had none.
Anyway, I don't know anyone who has one. Can anyone out there give me a clue?

I have used a 'Silkimitt', which I believe works in a similar way. It works like sandpaper, and you have to use it in a circular fashion. It rubs the hair off, and I suppose gives any dry skin a good sanding! Personally, I think the results are good as long as you do not rub your hand 'against the grain' so to speak. I also had worse stubble than shaving, the next day.

I think that epilators are the best solution. Yes, they hurt for a few minutes, but then the pain sort of reaches a plateau which you get used to. My main problem with waxing and epilation is ingrowing hairs.
