Does anyone know where I can get hold of any of these at all? I am after one that covers most of a standard bath bottom for the two sprogs - fed up with them having half a bum each on our little one..if there are no such things then will have to get two little uns I suppose??

MadameButterfly · 13/07/2004 23:26

Is this one any good

hmb · 13/07/2004 23:27

Boots used to sell them, 2.5 foot long, or so.

MadameButterfly · 13/07/2004 23:29

Or these

whizzz · 13/07/2004 23:29

IKEA - very cheap too! (not more than £3) 30" long (is that very long or just standard ?)

poppyseed · 13/07/2004 23:32

WOW you lot are quick! Do I live with my head in the sand or what? Need to measure my existing one and the bath to see if it's long enough.... back soon! How sad is this?....

Slightly different take on the bathmat side of things.

My children use Oilatum in the bath, and it seems to kill bathmats stone dead (if it's at all possible to kill a mat!). After a few weeks they ALWAYS go sticky and slimy and start glueing themselves to the bath. Yeuchh! Anyone else get that happen?

Just thought I'd share that with you - God, must get out more

hana · 13/07/2004 23:47

another vote for the Ikea one ( but mine is going kinda gooey, must get a new one....)

poppyseed · 14/07/2004 00:12

OK, anyone know of a longer one than 90cm?..... bathmat I mean. Blooming Marvellous is winning on length at the moment. Need it as long as possible as our little seedlings aren't that little.....
Emulsifying stuff in the bath does that to our mats too -gross huh??

Going once...

Why not just use 2 at standard size? Covers the whole bath, easy 2 find...

Hang it/them up 2 dry out completely between baths, Tiny. That black stuff underneath may harbour MRSA(!)

poppyseed · 14/07/2004 16:57

Yes thanks, that is an option, but wanted to go for the aesthetic appearance if possible....(nothing better to worry about obviously)

Going twice.......

OMG Zebra - MRSA, that is a very scary thought. I did not know that MRSA could appear there, even though I'm usually pretty good at knowing what germs like what places to hide.

I tend to throw my mat away after a few weeks anyway and just keep replacing with a cheap (£1.99) new one, cos I cannot stand it when it goes gooey. BUT, bath toys are a different matter. I try to keep them clean but have noticed gunky stuff can collect in them sometimes despite my best efforts. If something like MRSA could be lurking I'm going to have to bin some old favourites, even if it makes me super unpopular.

zebra · 15/07/2004 17:01

I was told that it's the black stuff (like what comes out if you squeeze an old rubber ducky).
Hang 'em up to dry they shouldn't go mucky.
Er, Poppyseed, does your DS or DD really care about aesthetics??

poppyseed · 16/07/2004 00:50

No, but I do!!!

Gone! Sold to Blooming marvellous.

Tinyganghq, we use oilatum in ocassions but mostly a tar based medicated oil which is black and smell like BBQ, the thing sticks to the bath, the toys, the clothes and it is a pain to remove. People should think we are the dirtiest people when seeing DS toys, I'm thinking in washing them in the dishwasher...
