I currently drive a Peugeot 3008 which we bought to replace a very old Grand Jeep cherokee which I loved so much (except for its fuel consumption which is why we got rid).
I now want to change my car and am considering the above.
From what I can see we could get a newish, low mileage Kuga or IX35 for around the same price as an older (2009/10) higher mileage (70-80k) CRV or Freelander.
Having missed the Jeep so much I foolishly sat in a Freelander 2 HSE and really loved it.
My Peugeot is a 2009 reg with 48k miles. I was originally looking to get a newer car with low mileage but if I went for the CRV or FL I wouldn't be improving.
What I'm pondering is if it is worth buying a 'better' type of car even though it is older and higher mileage, if they are more expensive are they generally more reliably made and therefore last longer?
I feel like my heart is saying FL and my head is saying Kuga or IX35. I thought both of those were perfectly nice til I stupidly tried the FL! Prob didn't help that it was a lovely high spec one with sun roof, leather seats etc.
Budget is around £10-12kish, could go a bit higher but would prefer not to. Have two kids.
