Spray on Red Hair Colour for Comic Relief

My two dds went to school yesterday dressed in red for Comic Relief. They wanted their hair coloured red so I bought a can of spray. How nasty is that stuff? All last night and today my skin has felt tight, sore and itchy. I'm sure it's a reaction to the hairspray. DDs hands and faces are pink where the colour seems to have spread from their hair and they will be getting showered down (daren't put them in the bath!) when they return from shopping with dh. DH's socks were pink on the bottom this morning - I stupidly sprayed their hair in the lounge yesterday and the spray must have got onto the carpet - can't see it fortunately.
That's the last time I'm buying that stuff.

DS1 and DS2 had this in their hair yesterday too. It's foul stuff. Their hair feels absolutely awful, they have red foreheads and it's gone a rather peculiar colour. Both boys are blond and I bet it doesn't wash out very well - that is if I can get them to let me wash it.....

I'm sure it said on the can not to use on light coloured hair!

DD's face looks slightly sunburnt as the colour has transferred. I haven't looked at her pillowcase and bedding yet!

our bath went pink when I washed it out of dd's hair, like the bath in 'Cat in the Hat Comes Back' (children most delighted!)

(I think it did say not to use it on light/fair hair on the tin - I didn't put it on ds's hair (blonde) and I think that was why)

Yesterday dh took ds2 to school nursery in the afternoon. He had gelled his hair into a funky style but loads of the other kids had red in theirs. One of the mums asked dh if ds2 would like it in his - apparently dh pondered and they were all in stitches (knowing me well) as he was mulling 'hhmmm, what's the correct answer, what would GDG say'. He made the right choice adn said no! Am so glad as ds2 has gorgeous very light blond hair.

Sounds like a nightmare

I've just thrown the rest of the can away. It did say to test on light coloured hair - but I didn't. I have never suffered with any allergic reactions before - I'm sure I am now.
Forgot to mention - sorry if TMI - when dds had gone to school yesterday I came back home and needed to blow my nose - the tissue was red when I had . Scary to think how much I may have inhaled.

I didn't get to see the can. We stopped off at a friend's on the way to school and she was spraying her children's hair. The boys wanted the same so I just said to go ahead.

They've both been swimming today and now have almost normal coloured hair, but vividly pink scalps!

We are all showered and sleeping in fresh clean beds tonight. My skin still feels midly irritated though.
I have learnt my lesson.
