Help - mould spots on Maclaren buggy!!!

The wet and mild winter, and being kept in the boot of the car when not in use (and sometimes stored wet - doh!) has meant that my lovely green Maclaren has now got black mould spots on it (including on the straps). I've tried the correct Stain Devils for mould, but this didn't shift it at all. I think there's no solution but can anyone suggest anything? It's not so bad now when the cosytoes is on, but will look awful in the summer. Can you get replacement covers for Maclarens? I'm definitely regretting not getting a darker coloured one, but it's so pretty!

Have you tried taking the covers off and washing using the washing instructions on the label? My maclaren did the same thing recently and the spots came off in the wash. You can get replacement covers from maclaren directly so if all else fails you could try that.

I did take it all off and soaked it in the sink with the Stain Devils. I can?t remember what the instructions say ? did you put yours in the machine, bagpuss? If so, did you use normal powder? I did machine wash the straps, but they?re still all mingy.

I have one which has a seat liner and an apron and just took those off and put them in the machine on a hand wash cycle with some non bio powder. The rest of the buggy is black so could be teaming with mildew but you can't see it, so I just left that bit .

I had this happen and I removed covers and put them in the bath with Oxy Powder.
It took the mildew off the buggy but didn't remove it from my car seat cover. Worth a try.

Ooh, good one, thank you. Mumsnet strikes again! Is there anything we collectively don't know!
