Advice needed on lightweight buggy!

I need to buy a buggy for my 2 year old ds. It will only get light use as I work full time and he is at nursery but it would be useful for the occasional weekend outing and for a holiday later in the year. Any advice would be appreciated as to whether it is worth paying out for a Zapp or a Maclaren or whether a cheap and cheerful stroller would be better. It doesnt need to recline as my ds isnt keen on sleeping in a buggy! I like the idea of a Zapp but have never tried one .. any advantages/disadvantages would be appreciated.

I love the Zapp, it's so easy to push my 3 year old in (even one handed around the supermarket). Folds up small, fab for holidays.
Downsides are of course that it doesn't recline and has no shopping basket. I use one of those net bag things to keep wipes and a drink/snack in.
Oh and it does do that tipping thing, so don't hang bags from the handles.
But I still love it, mainly because it's so easy to push. The wheels on cheap strollers are just too small to push toddlers with.

thanks horsemadgal ... thats probably what I wanted to hear! I just need to try and find a decent second hand one now that I can afford.

i have a micralite and i cant stop raving about it. it really is so light you can twirl it round with almost one finger! it folds easily with one hand and is frreestanding when folded. it has adjustable handles, it has lovely big pneumatic tyres at the back so really easy for rough ground but then little swivel wheels at front for around town its just the BEST- and i've had alot of buggies. shopping basket tricky to access but easy to get to if you go in through the front (only just relised this after a year!). my dd is 2 now and its like pushing a baby. buy one they are great! and alwyas seems to be popping up on ebay and the like.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo ... (that is a loooong name!) ... is it comfy? Ive always wondered because they looks so light that I wondered if they were too flimsy.

seems to be very comfy! dd still falls asleep in hers occasionally. i think it must be nice as its a sling seat so a bit like a hammock i would suppose. in the winter she has a lambskin fleecy thing on it and in summer its lovely and cool as it has a kind of mesh over the seat so it 'breathes' IYKWIM.
like previous poster said about her buggy tipping, you cant put anything on handles and get child out or it tips over but i frequently hang stuff on handles whilst she is in it (as shes now quite heavy ) and it stays put on the ground.

ps it is a long name- seem to have adopted the shortened 'boobs' (though i think it makes me sound like i have massive ones )!

I only wondered about the comfort because their legs seem to dangle over the edge! They seem to go for quite a lot of money on ebay so I may have to opt for something cheaper though. Its really a question of what I can justify spending considering we use it so little.

Maclaren volo is THE answer IMO!
