This is the pushchair a friend is considering for her baby, due later this year. She wondered what other people's experiences and thoughts were like of it; what did you like or dislike about it?

I will do a search on old threads too, but any info will be passed on. Thanks.

Am I driving you mad yet, misdee?

Haven't looked at the mutsy. Will do.

Just found a cheap place for the bugaboo . £540 plus shipping. Think it's about £25.

FirstAtForty · 13/03/2007 22:26

I've got the 2006 Buzz, bought new in December off ebay from one of those bargain bulk sellers, with postage it was just under £200. Basket was extra though (£17 I think).

Agree it's really nice to push and the rear facing thing was the big selling point for me. Being able to put the maxi-cosi on it is definitely handy sometimes, but not really essential.

Biggest downside for me is the wide wheel base, it's difficult to get round narrow shop aisles and through some doorways. Depends where you shop though, I live in a 'heritage' town where nothing much can be adapted to be pushchair friendly. It's fine in big shopping malls. (I'm now looking enviously at bugaboos because of the narrower wheel base!)

I haven't found tipping of the seat unit to be a problem.

FirstAtForty · 13/03/2007 22:30

yes it would be nice if all the tyres were air, the rear ones are great for bumping down stairs etc but quite often the pram gets jolted when the front wheels hit something unexpected!

EllieK · 13/03/2007 22:41

i loved my buzz but have had to swap it for a zapp as it was just too heavy to lift in and out of the boot.

the 2006 model was suitable from birth as the seat cold be fully reclined, the 2007 model is only suitable from birth with the dreami carrycot or maxi cosi seat attached, BabiesRUs have had to issue a catalogue amendment.

LaDiDaDi · 14/03/2007 10:26

Scot girl, it does have a more upright position! You can put it so that the lo is nearly sitting straight up.

ScotGirl · 14/03/2007 11:33

As far as I can work out there are only 2 positions when it is facing you - I find that the sitting one isn't upright enough. Unless I am missing something...

Ceolas · 14/03/2007 13:01

The one I was shown only had 2 positions rear facing but 3 forward.

I think I need one custom made. I like the red reflection fabric, but I don't like the silver inside the hood of the carrycot. mothercare did one with red inside but have stopped making it!

LaDiDaDi · 15/03/2007 19:49

I've just looked at mine tonight and it definitely has three positions rear facing. There are little indents on the chassis hubs at each side and also on the buggy seat at the position where it clicks in to the chassis hubs at each side. These indents can either align, which gives you the middle posiotion, or be one position out of line in either direction to give you the flat position and the upright position.

I'm sorry if that crap description doesn't help.

All technical terms are of my own making !

I have been reading the reviews as thinking of getting a Quinny Buzz as my second buggie for my lo who is 6 months. I really like the idea of rear and forward facing as my current buggie is only forward facing now he is getting too big for the travel sysetem. Anyone bought a used 2006 model from ebay?

nikki81 · 23/03/2007 20:47

Hi. I am abit of a pramoholic and have had many in my time! DD2 is 6 months and I now have a M&P pliko pramette and a Quinny Buzz. I love my Buzz and the fact that LO can face me, I have only got 2 positions rear facing and 3 foward facing and the upright one is very upright. Mine was secondhand and a 2006 model. My steering is abit dodgy and im sure the front wheel keeps getting stuck, not sure if this is how they all are?? Debating ordering a new one from Dorel. I brought the shopping basket. My bumper bar is missing but don't really need it unless it's used when baby is older? It's a good buggy that I find very light and easy to put in car and it looks very funky! Also is it me or is the raincover really difficult to put on??

AudJ29 · 23/03/2007 22:59

I'm getting very confused. Yes, I too am one of many looking for a buggie that can be front and rear facing and light enough/ easily foldable/ stylish enough to be used on a reguar basis (........tall order I know!). I have the M&P aria which has been great as a travel system and the lightest one on the market, so great for use in the car ( and has already done 2 transatlantic flights!) but now LO is 6 months he is too big and I would still like the mummy facing option. I don't think weight is too much of a problem as I will still use the other one for the car (although I don't really have the experience of pushing a heavier buggie around all day), however, I am a little concerned about the 'wide wheel' base of the Buzz as I very much need/want to be able to get in and out of shops with ease.

Anyone with experience of the Huack Infinity or the Britax Vigour 4?

FirstAtForty · 23/03/2007 23:16

I think the Infinity has a 61cm wheel base as compared to the Buzz at 65cm. Not sure about the Britax. Measurements given on websites are generally not to be trusted ime, if you can, get out and measure them 'in the flesh'!

Hate to say it but Bugaboos really do seem to be a good option, wheel base about 57cm with all of the features of reversibility and ability to put car seat on chassis that the Buzz has.

FirstAtForty · 23/03/2007 23:17

oh and if air tyres aren't important you could consider the iCandy Cherry?
