My ds is now 10andhalf weeks and is now too big for the little bath,so he needs to go in the big bath,so is a sponge seat the best thing to sit in?

boots and john lewis do a similar deckchair type thing made of plastic that you don't put a towel over IYSWIM. it is very good!

codswallop · 05/07/2004 22:21

well yes

I oculd sit on the loo at he same time so that was ok
the whole phase doesnt last long tho and in my case ds3 would flip himself off anything by 4 months

happymummy1 · 05/07/2004 22:22

Thankyou mummytosteven and yes i do know what you mean twiglett, since having my ds i'm sure my brain does'nt work as well!

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this but as any one on Mumsnet only got a shower? At the moment we use the baby bath in the bottom of the shower but I just wondered what we'll do when ds has outgrown the baby bath? I guess he'll just have to get used to showers!

happymummy1 · 05/07/2004 22:27

Hi vict17 i don't know what you could do,i guess you're ds can share a shower with you.

That's a good idea Twiglett. Dh often 'hoses down' ds after his bath with the shower to get him used to it but I guess at the moment the bottle before bed realxes him! We bath him every night but does there come a point when they're older when you bath less often? I remember a weekly hair wash when I was young but not how often we had a bath...

Hulababy · 05/07/2004 23:55

We had something similar to this baby bath seat . And it was great. Found it easy than trying to hold DD in the big bath and TBH she enjoyed having her morning bath (whilst still a bit tired and relaxed) in this until around 7 months.

ChicPea · 06/07/2004 01:24

Agree with Hullaby. Used this for both babies and it saved me hurting my back and they enjoyed being in it and kicking ferociously (sp?).

We have used a sponge seat/mat thing from Mothercare (£7) from birth and ds is now 6 months old. He now sits on it first to play with 'duck' the lies down to be washed with both my hands free. He loves it and its great for travelling as can squash in anywhere. When he is sitting up on his own properly I will progress to the bath seat support thing instead. Hope this helps.

Thankyou all for being so helpful.
