Mothercare Urban Detour and newborn?

Has anyone used one of these for a newborn? I think it will be fine but dh not sure. Was thinking of just putting baby in buggy snuggle.

Also, anyone know if there's a specific buggy board that fits on this?

Thanks! Dinny

seat to go buggy board will fit on. thats about it really.

newborn will be fine in it, tho may seem a bit lost as they are very large buggies. best to put an extra 'snuggly' on it to make it more newborn friendly.

i'd say a newborn would be fine but personally i would put a head support in it.

Misdee, do you know anywhere that sells Seat 2 Go in the UK? Or is it only on internet? Thanks, Dinny

I used it for ds1 when he was newborn. But as everyone says, it is very large. You could definately do with some sort of extra something in it to make it a bit more snuggly.

dinny, I used it for a newborn as well without any problem, as everyone said, just add a good snuggly on.
I couldn't find a buggy board for it, so ds1 sits on the front, but I will look for the Seat 2 go - thanks misdee.

think some independant baby stores will sell it or will be able to order it in. mothercare dont sell any buggy boards as the use of them invalidates your warrenty on buggies. best place to find the seat to go is ebay tho.

only one on ebay atm seat to go

Hi,
I used the urban detor from birth with a lovely big sherpa fleece cosy toes, and ds was fine. I also had a buggy board on the back, but the only thing I found with this was that dd was only 2.5 at the time and she couldn't see over the top of the buggy, as they are rather big. It was rather uncomfortable for her, and we gave up after a few tries.

With my Urban Detour, it is really hard to use the brake with my 'Seat to go'. Actually almost impossible.

I would go to an independant nursery product shop, as they have more choice, and know their products better, if only for the advice.

Have to add that my graco autobaby carseat fitted like a glove on my urban detour, to use as a travel system.

Good point smelly, had forgotten about the brake prob. I had to flip the buggy board up to use the brake, which was impossible if dd was standing on it. DD actually used to sit on the hood, cos it was really strong, but I wouldn't want to recommend this to anyone.
