I'm trying to choose a wrap sling but thebabywearer.com reviews are unavailable at the moment

Can anyone help?

have you looked at bigmamaslings? think its .co.uk ...

NappiesGalore · 03/03/2007 16:34

otherwise, we need more info! age of child a good start... what attracts you to stretchy or woven?

TheBlonde · 03/03/2007 16:35

yes, been looking there
quite tempted by the hug-a-bub but wondering about that vs didymos

x posts sorry

looking for sling for newborn
already have a 2 year old and have no desire to carry him about
worried about ease of use but definitely want something that goes on both shoulders

like the idea of strechy so you can wrap and then pop LO in
worried about the length of fabric

stretchy fab for newborn popability. crap after a while when they get too heavy, about 3months up depending on your wrap, the stretchier the sooner you need a woven one.

i got a maman kangarou for 10 pounds second hand and it was great for the first 4 months then i swapped to a cwtshi mei tai.

a wrap like a didymos never loses its shape and 2nd hand is always good and you can still sell them one.

i have a didy. i didn't start when dd was newborn but wished i did. there is a dvd which goes with it that makes newborn wraps very easy.

there is more than one way to put on the wrap then put the baby in.

if you are not larger than a size 14, a didymos size 5 will get you through all but 2 of the carries on the dvd.

but if money is an issue, a size 3 length should get you through most holds.

there are yahoo groups where you can buy / sell slings 2nd hand

one is called ukbabyswap.

or rather ukbabywearingswap

thunk · 03/03/2007 17:21

storchenweige or is it wiege also has a weave like a didymos but are slightly cheaper.

thunk - thanks for the yahoo tip.

I am usually 12/14 but huge boobs so I think I'd need a size 6 didymos

i have a moby wrap and i wore ds2 the whole time when he was tiny.
he is 6 months now and 20lbs and i wear him facing outwards and it's fine.

he feels really secure and safe. just make sure you wrap tightly.
if it gets abit stretched, it goes back to its original shape once washed.
