stale bedding
mummysurfer · 25/06/2004 14:56
does your bedding go stale? well mine does
wash it, dry it - result - nice fresh bedding. put it in the cupboard for a week come to put it on the bed and not only has the fresh smell gone but has been replaced by foul 'biddy' smell
does this happen to everyone or have i just got smelly cupboards???
suzywong · 25/06/2004 15:04
PMSL @ biddy smell
( I fear that aroma inevitabley awaits us all)
lyndap · 25/06/2004 15:12
Have you thought about using scented drawer liners? (God, I sound like my granny!)
CP3 · 25/06/2004 15:22
Mummysurfer, in boots and body shop they sell this lavender sleep spray for childrens rooms. It doesnt work, at all, but i spray it on the bed linen each day and its lovely.
Northerner · 25/06/2004 15:31
LOL at CP3 buying lavender sleep spray!! Did you really think it would work?!!! Or were you so desperate you'd try anything?!
CountessDracula · 25/06/2004 15:33
Surely lavender IS a biddy smell
Just tumble them for 10 mins before you put them on the beds, that will sort it out
CP3 · 25/06/2004 15:35
ill try anything Northener, and Cd i am 88 so i have to cover up my biddy bed smell with another nicer biddy smell
lavender1 · 25/06/2004 15:50
lavender oil is very trendy and supposed to induce a calm night's sleep...get spraying!!!!!
mummysurfer · 25/06/2004 16:12
oh, i've got some fabreze somewhere, but....why so they smell. do yours?
Jaybee · 25/06/2004 16:23
Avon do a linen spray which is very good. To be honest, mine rarely get put away as they get washed and returned to the bed on the same day. The spare stuff is kept in the airing cupboard so maybe the cupboard is a bit damp.
Branster · 25/06/2004 16:53
try ironing them using a scented iron water (i think L'Occitane do a rose ironing water)
carla · 25/06/2004 17:00
Ironing sheets Branster? Good god, have you gone stark raving mad, woman? Are you sure you're drying them enough, MS? And what, prey tell, is a 'biddy' smell?
Try shoving a few sheets of bounce around them as you fold them up. This always works a treat for dds uniform - esp. when I put uniform in a plastic bag on the radiator - heat seems to release the oils in them.
