Who can recommend a LARGE POOL for my garden please?

Did Cod have one last year? What kind was it?

I got a 10ft easy-set blue one from B&Q - £50. Love it but buy a cover and don't scrimp on the chemicals to stop it going green!

soph28 · 21/02/2007 21:51

how large- do you mean those ones you get in costco that you have to climb into with a ladder and have a heater etc.?

We got a very large paddling pool (10ft diameter by 3ft deep) in costco for £30 last summer but i really want the pool- my dh said no but i'm going to get it this year.

AND a trampoline.

soph28 · 21/02/2007 21:52

Kbear- what chemicals do you use, where do you get them and how much do you put in?

ManchesterMum · 21/02/2007 21:56

If you buy a pool now, you can guarantee the Summer will be poo!

morningpaper · 21/02/2007 21:58

I don't know what kind

Maybe HUGE, maybe just an 8 footer

I've got a trampoline - it's GREAT but you do wet yourself

don't mind wetting myself in the name of fun

morningpaper · 21/02/2007 22:01

oh cod was it GOOD

will you get it out this year

was it COLD

I've seen some instructions for making a solar panel to heat it which I am well up for doing

Bought the chemicals in B&Q too. Treatment goes in once a week.

If you get a 10ft one you get the filter but you don't with the 8ft one.

We bought a 12ft pool last year from Homebase of all places. It was about £160 on a special offer and included steps, net, pump and cover. Bloody marvelous.

Roll on summer.

In my head I've got a fantasy that I will build a fecking huge deck to go around it with posh railings etc

of course that might look a tad out of place in my subsiding ex-council house but I DO like the idea

our friends removed the turf in the shape of the pool and put polystyrene foam down underneath the pool for insulation. Then they just relay the turf at the end of summer!

yup definitely do that.

SarahJaneSmith · 21/02/2007 22:07

I was doing the daily test and measure last summer.....does anyone do the chlorine an easier way?

Also, thoroughly recommend putting the kids in wetsuits on an overcast day. Much cheaper than a heater IMO.

We have a lilo each.

Or level a bit of the main garden

We have ours on our patio nestling on a bed of carpet offcuts. Very soft underfoot and directly under the balcony for spectacular jumping-in potential. Lordy, I love my pool.
