Ladies, I have trawled t'internet to no avail so I'm turning to you all for help. You know that Ariel advert, the one where you do your washing at 30 degrees and save the world? You know how when that clever mummy does her washing lights go on all over the village? Well one of the lights that goes on is a lamp that projects stars all over a little boys bedroom ceiling. I MUST HAVE IT!!! My son is sleep erratic to say the least and I think it will help. I can't find it anywhere though? Does anyone have one and if so do you think it will help? Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one?

I saw that thing in the Guardian too and meant to post...
I found the light on another site for less but forgot to bookmark it, but if you google you will find (details all on Guardian site dont have them here).

You can get it from Amazon for much cheaper! I've been thinking about getting it for my DD's birthday as she's currently using my lava lamp!

Pannacotta · 11/04/2007 13:48

And even cheaper here on here - £24.99
www.babysecurity.co.uk
But it is very ugly, looks like an animal head!
Is this really the one used in the Ariel ad?

MrsBadger · 11/04/2007 13:56

MIL clipped this from the Guardian for me but am not 100% it's the one in the advert

Pannacotta · 11/04/2007 14:00

I can't remember what the lamp looked like in the ad, more the star effect is threw out which was lovely, but this pig head lamp is super ugly, not sure I could bring myself to put that in a baby room, would prob cause nightmares... (also you cant see the way it lights up so hard to know if its the one)
Can the OP come back and help us out here?

MrsBadger · 11/04/2007 14:12

pic here looks completely wrong...

DrMarthaMcMoo · 11/04/2007 14:14

I thought the one in the ad was just a cylinder with cut out stars.

Pannacotta · 11/04/2007 14:32

Think the Guardian got it wrong, seem to remember it similar to you DrM.
What a shame as have been wondering how/where to find this lamp, the moving stars is such a lovely idea...

MrsBadger · 11/04/2007 14:44

I reckon sciencey toys are the way to go

thus

Pannacotta · 11/04/2007 14:53

Urchin do a LED mobile
www.urchin.co.uk/catalog/family-living/kids-rooms/kids-lighting/p_68802.html
which might give same effect more or less, also the Tomy Starlight Dreamshow, but none quite the same...

Not what you are are looking for exactly, but I was in Borders yesterday and saw a national geographic star planetarium for £19.99. It is recommended as 8+yrs, but i guess that's for the educational aspect as it reflects stars in our solar system and tracks them across the room as they would the sky.

here on amazon

But having read the reviews, sounds like a piece of shite. Although great in theory, mmmm. Maybe the next version of it will be better.
