Inflatable Wheels on Pram/Buggie

What do you think of inflatable wheels on a pram/buggie. Do you find that you always have a puncture or having to blow them up?

Looking for a new pram for 2nd baby due in June and all the ones I like have these and not sure about them.

Thanks!

didnt have to pump mine up much at all. got a puncture just once, had an unrban detour from mothercare. get them to get you a spare inner tube and puncture repair kit. keep a pump in bottom of pram. no probs. better ride i think!

Have had a Jane for 4 years - now on 2nd baby and a BuggyBoard. Think we have had one puncture in all that time and we aren't very careful, take it 'off-road'/camping etc
I love it as ride seems SO much smoother than hard wheels.

We had some problems with our 3 wheeler at one point, but bought this green slime stuff you put inside which seals the punctrue immedietately and that helped....we got it in Country wise shop and it's the one that you can sue for tractors, cars, bikes...everything

We've got a Phil and Teds - which I evangelise about. Had 1 puncture in a year, and we have done a lot of trekking along cliff top tracks and roving besides lochs. We were eventually punctured by a thorn on a pavement! Normal bicycle repair kit got us going again.

The worst problem I had was the first time I needed to put extra air in the tyres. I asked my dad to take it to the garage forecourt pump and he blew a wheel of the pram by inflating it to 100psi instead of 21psi. The wheel shattered, the inner tube was shredded and the actual tyre was vulcanised by the experience. PandT's replaced the whole wheel free of charge and we've used a bicycle pump ever since. V comfy ride for DS3 though.

You can buy Inner tube sealant that seals small punctures.
I use it in my bike tyres, to great effect

Great, thanks for your replies. So although you have had a few problems, nothing major by the sounds of it.

Cheers

No problems after we slimed the wheels. I recommend the slime!
