Phil & Teds KIWI EXPLORER - Advice needed!!!

Hi, well after some searching and help from you MN beauties, I managed to track down an old Kiwi Explorer version of the Phil & Ted's. (Actually someone tracked it down for me!!)
It's here, arrived today, and I'm a bit confused. I realised from threads on here that the instructions are meant to be rubbish, well it took me about an hour to put on the newborn bit and I found a few straps etc. were missing - hopefully might get a response from P&T whose online enquiry form is currently down...anyway!
Questions!
For anyone who has owned one of these beasts...
Am I right in thinking the parcel tray attaches with velcro straps? (these are nowhere to be found!)
Do the underneath straps from the main sling REALLY have to pass through the eyelets and through the newborn section, to be tied to the frame? (seems like new baby might get feet caught in them?)
Does the newborn section really accommodate a kicking newborn - it looks impossibly short! (I can see why the new E3 has the toddler raised up, giving the baby more legroom)
And finally, is the whole thing supposed to be quite so wobbly. It's not in danger of falling to bits but when you raise the back section off the floor, using the handlebar (as if reversing up steps) it seems to have a lag between you lifting it up, and the wheels leaving the floor.
On investigation, the higher 'release button' (used when folding) on the left of the buggy, seem a bit loose in its mooring, it looks like the hole has worn down so it has some give, thus the two halves of the buggy don't lock 'firmly' and move as one when lifting it.
Does this make sense? I doubt anything can be done as it's part of the frame, and obviously the whole thing is pretty old.
But I'd like to know whether to worry about any of this stuff or not - so any experience or ideas most welcome!
Thankyou Ladies

First question is do you have a digital camera? If so can you do photos and email them to me?

Yes you need parcel tray strap to attache but in desperate times you could probably use string or something and just leave one of the sides bits undone to get shopping in and out (ie not front of back straps). Yes I would use the strap things thru the eyelets etc for toddlers safety. My only baby to use the newborn bit was 10lb at birth and she fitted fine until 3 months and moved into the back seat. I used an old fashioned baby nest thing to post her in & out of it - same theory as sleeping sac/carry cot by P&T I suppose.

Have you tried tightening the big bolt things that hold the pieces of frame together that may reduce movement? It should be safe providing the locking bolts click into place fully? Could you weld some metal into the hole to make is smaller again?

Yes the sling bit does rock quite a bit from side to side but IME the baby liked it!

Hi there, thanks for the quick response! Yes I will email you some pics if that's Ok, hard to explain otherwise!
Great idea with the lift-out thingy in the back, I can see they supplied one with the original package (on the instructions it mentions it) and would certainly help. I'm reassured to know your big baby was happy in there for a few months! I think I've forgotten what babies look like after all this time
Will email in a mo...
