I think I already know the answer to this, but I just wanted to see what everyone else says. I brought a pair of shoes, and when I tried them on at the shop, they seemed fine. Im inbetween sizes so I got the smaller size as the bigger size felt like they'd fall off. Anyway, I wore them around the house to "break" into them, and everything was fine. I wore them out for a couple of hours as I thought there was no problem with them. However, when I got back, I ended up with blisters on both feet and not being able to walk anyway for the rest of the day! I want to exchange them for the next size up as I really like them, but as Ive worn them, I dont think Ill be able to exchange them will I?

don't think they will tammybear. However, if you get a candle and rub it on the inside back of the shoe where it rubs your foot, the heat of your foot will melt the wax and soften the seam.

really? ill give that a try, thanks

Probably not, although you might be lucky with the manager's discretion. Generally you have no statutory rights if you "change your mind" as such unless you agreed it at the time, but it depends on what caused the blisters.

Tammybear, are the shoes leather? If so, when the leather softens, the shoes will feel larger. I've always regretted buying shoes that were a bit too big- they never get smaller!

I was given a tip for shoe buying- always do it at the end of a day's shopping when your feet have swollen up a bit!

tissy, thats a handy tip

LIZS, the shoe was rubbing against my feet which caused the blisters, but whilst i was walking around the house, i was fine.

I've done it before where I've bought the wrong size (wa the right size on the tag but wrong size on the shoe) and they've always changed them. Also got home once to find I had one size 4 and one size 7. I would give it a go you've got nothing to lose.

What I was thinking was that if it was, say, a roughly stitched seam causing the problem you might have a more valid argument than just them being a poor fit. Still worth a try.
