Hi
This is my first post!!
I need to get DS the 9month - 4year car seat and am after any reccomendations.
We currently have the M&P baby car seat - which I have hated as it's so big and heavy and I need to make sure I get the next one right.
Any one got a Maxicosy Tobi? Are they and good?
Many thanks

m&p protec well rated for safety and far lighter than most similar car seats. It fits most cars due to the way the seat is shaped for recline.

I can fit it in about 2 mins and it is solid as a rock. I really struggle with our reinaissance vv heavy and more awkward to fit. Reinassance has a slightly better head support for younger ones though.

Suppose it depends how often you are going to be moving it around.

Many thanks.

The seat will be in my car most of the time, but on the occasions when i do need to transfer it to another car then I don't want it to be a complete pain in the neck!

I know they can move to the next seat at 20lb(DS is currently about 19lb), but when is it that they have to move. Do i have to consider other things like when he can sit up well (he still falls back sometimes) and whether his head comes over the top of his current seat (he's a long fella!)

He does need to be able to sit well and most infant seats go up to 10 kg/22lbs(stage 0) or 13 kg/28lbs(stage 0+) so he doesn't have to move before then unless his ehad is abpove the back rest see here . A baby who cannot sit and hold his head for at least 30 minutes is much safer rearward facing whatever the weight and even older children continue to rear face much longer in some countries.

We love our Britax seats. Ds2 has a decathlon convertible which would work on a 8 month old.

Maxi cosi priori is great, well padded and good recline much better than the britax duo (isofix) which has fallen apart although it's considrably lighter.
