MBT's - are yours comfy?

I bought these last year after my third c section and knowing it would be a while till I was back in the gym (ha - you can say that again, still not there!). Anyway the shop said that sometimes they hurt your heel for the first week, but they soon wear in. Well one year on whenever I wear them I end up with huge weeping blisters on my heels. I thought it was just me, but this week have discovered that 2 friends of mine have exactly the same problem. So is it just our locl shop selling us all the wrong size or have other MBT suckers found the same thing. Feel like writing to MBT to try and get the not inconsiderable investment back!

what are MBT's?

ZZMum · 26/01/2007 20:15

I never had that with mine! Sounds like very badly fitted shoes to me... would never expect shoes to be blister ever, never mind for the first week...

I found they felt odd for the first week (but not ripping skin odd!) but then they were fine

#however, would say they do not do half the things they claim!

Carmenere · 26/01/2007 20:16

nope dsis has never had that complaint, are they loose?

itsallabitmuch · 28/01/2007 21:45

No, mine are fine. Went for a 2-hour walk in them the 1st day I had them even. Wouldn't say they do everything they claim, but you can walk with a baby in a sling for the whole day without getting backache when you've got them on. They look ridiculous, but I don't look very chic with a baby on anyway, so never mind about that

DimpledThighs · 28/01/2007 22:04

I think they may fit wrong - mine are fine - very comfy and not a blister ever, I do often suffer with shoes but not my MBT's.

Mine hurt one heel quite a lot to begin with but three weeks on are ok-although have to admit not walking far in them.

When I bought mine I was told they had to really fit well-far more snug than any other trainer-in fact I ended up with a size smaller than I would normally take.

Did you have your feet measured with the MBT scale?

carriemumsnet · 29/01/2007 11:01

Hmm just me then

Yes had feet measured, though have to admit I hate tight shoes and do blister easily - always have. Just don;t want to feel as if I've wasted all that money and aside from the blisters I don;t find them uncomfortable and agree that while they do naff all for cellulite I think they do improve your posture while you are wearing them...

Might go back to shop and see what if anything they can suggest.

And Cadbury if you are still non plussed they are a type of trainer - which have a sort of uneven surface so allegedly make you walk better ... oh even as I type it all sounds such twaddle! Look here for all the claims!

I hate tight shoes too and I have to say it is a relief when I take mine off

I was bemoanign the fact that they di naff all except help my posture when she kindly pointed out I did need to walk in them-not sit drinking coffee in a soft pay area

Cadbury · 29/01/2007 11:05

Blimey, they are expensive aren't they!

I can see how they work though. I'd ask at the shop and see what they say.

prettybird · 29/01/2007 11:13

Mine are OK - althugh I think I did get a wee bit of tenderness the first week. I have noticed though that the fabric on the inside of the heel was worn a bit, which wuld suggest some movement, so if you were prone to blisters, then that would contribute.

Wear them for 2x15 minute walk into town at lunctimes.

They do help with posture - and with toning your pelvic floor!

Bugsy2 · 29/01/2007 11:30

I've had mine for nearly two years now & can't say I've had blistered heels. If I wear them constantly (i.e 7 days a week & do lots of walking) I get a slightly raw patch on the back of one heel, but I just stick some micropore over it & it is fine.
What sort of socks are you wearing Carrie?

Hmm - thought this was going to be a thread about the Mountain Buggy Terrain, but I guess not!
