Can you tell me what you would store under this highchair?

It seems rather the monstrosity

Wouldn't the storage basket just get full of...well, old food?

In theory I would say:

Bibs
Apron
Wipes
clean towel for drying spills up with

But in practice it would most likely be bits of food ds had dropped.

hana · 22/01/2007 22:39

would be odd bits of toys, a shoe, maybe a scarf?? a friend has one and it's just that, a junk storage

Beauregard · 22/01/2007 22:39

If i owned it then it would probably end up full of crap

MrsJohnCusack · 22/01/2007 22:39

crumbs & old bits of crud presumably
not much point in it if you're going to fold it & store it away really is there

lulumama · 22/01/2007 22:40

could put the baby for a post lunchtime sleep in there !!

chocolatebirdy · 22/01/2007 22:40

Socks, definatly socks.

Kelly1978 · 22/01/2007 22:41

brocoli, biscuit crumbs, sandwich crusts, milk stains,

def invented by a non-parent!

Skribble · 22/01/2007 22:43

Lids of feeding cups, odd spoons, tubs with missing lids and other assorted junk .

giggly · 22/01/2007 23:25

Mmm, I have this high chair for dd 17 months and so far we have had, in no particular order spoons that we thought were lost, bibs thats where they live, empty yogurt pots ! dolly, thought she was also lost, sisters dog, of its own back, we think it was hiding from dd, one of dh shoes, serves him right for leaving lying about, old bits of cheese, pasta well anything she has had to eat. I will stop now as I am starting to sound like a very untidy mn. I do empty it every week though.(blush)

giggly · 22/01/2007 23:27

Oh dam my blush did not work

Tommy · 22/01/2007 23:30

it looks like someone designed a pushchair and then thought "oh no, actually I'll do a high chair..." and forgot about the basket.

can imagine that yours is quite typical giggly

hunkermunker · 22/01/2007 23:31

I thought that would be the case

If I had one it would be a festering collection of vileness inside a fortnight.

I don't get reclining backrests on highchairs either. Why?

OP posts:
Ceolas · 22/01/2007 23:38

Reclining backrests and cushions are so you can put a 4 month old baby who can't sit up into it and spoon feed it baby rice. Have seen this done

AllBuggiedOut · 22/01/2007 23:40

My cat would like it in there

AitchTwoOh · 22/01/2007 23:40

yikes.

ceolos, unfortunatly many people are told to spoon feed their kids at 4months by their HV's. i was told this with dd1+2, with dd3 i just avoided the HV. but i have used the reclining backrest of the highchair, for when she fell asleep in it

Ceolas · 22/01/2007 23:46

I know misdee. I was told the same with mine. All 3. Even in the face of WHO guidance.

ledodgy · 22/01/2007 23:48

My friend has this highchair she stores all his high chair type toys in there. It's a lovely highchair and was lovely and clean until she let my ds in there who stained it with spag bol.

kiskidee · 23/01/2007 00:08

it's ugly and expensive to boot.

maisym · 23/01/2007 01:00

the floor under the storage area would be very clean!

Used to put ds in his reclining chair so that he could see us whilst we had tea, he was a very upset baby. He wasn't eating but he was at the table, but we had one of the ones that go onto a chair - best $90 I ever spent he's nearly 4 and still sits in it, but has been persuaded he does not need to buckle himself in.
