Hi Sleepers

My dd wants a high bed when we decorate her room, however, I have dragged around many shops and they all seem to be these metal ones with a desk and a futon - we don't need a futon and would prefer to have shelves, or a cupboard or even a wardrobe under her bed. Has anyone seen or can recommend a high bed which utilises the space underneath it.

On here they have beds with 1-4 levels of strage underneath them.

and this company have lots of different designs too.

Infact, if you look here there are lots of sites to choose from.

Stompa do an excellent range of hi beds but can be quite pricey. Furnitureland also stock them (slightly cheaper - can't remember the brand) or if you're on a tight budget Argos sell them.

Ikea have them. And Debenhams.com have this one. . We've got the mid height version and it seems pretty sturdy.

Thanks - the Stompa ones look fantastic although I dread to think how much it would all cost once you add all the bits and pieces together. Some of them look really high. The Jay-be ones on hulababy's link look good too - thanks all, I think I need to get measuring and see what will fit.

We have just ordered an absolutely super one from Flexa , which can be turned back into an ordinary bed or added to to make bunk beds, or many variations.

We saw it in Furniture Land in Wembley (and ordered it from them), and it's a good robust bed.

Argos might be a cheaper option. My dd has an Argos high sleeper with the matching wardrobe underneath. She also has a chest of drawers under it but not a matching one. The bed has lasted well for two years so far!

John Lewis do a multi-part system, probably not the cheapest but really good system if you know you want to start with cabin sleeper and make it into a bunk bed later, that kind of thing.

That said, we picked up a cabin/hi-sleeper bed in a charity shop for £15; I'm pleased as punch about it.
