Hi,
i've joined the funclub though I don't have the buggy yet..
I was about to buy the latest v2 version but got really dissapointed when put my DD in the toddler seat in toddler/newborn option and found her head touching the sunhood!!! She got really annoyed... and her view was quite limited as well... And she isn't a big toddler (20 mth) at all!

Any of you found this toddler seat position difficult/impossible to use? It seems the construction of v2 (improved!!) to be a problem, as the toddler seat is so much higher than in previous v1 version.
Maybe I'm exaggerating the problem... but I'm really worried that my DD won't want to get in..!!

Should be grateful for any comments!

Rodney said that it would be only for a few months.. (he agreed that the seat IS higher in v2) - yes, true... but it DOES SEEM to be a problem! Any point of buying a buggy not to be able to use it?

Please, help!

I agree, I have been waiting for the new improved version 2 and hated what they had done with the seat - my dd is not very big but I think her head will touch the top too! It seems like they have made it more like a toddler seat rather than the zip on thingy. Apparently, it's like this to make it easier to put on, no zipping, little ones can't undo the zips and so that there is more space for the baby underneath. Hmmmm....

I didn't like it when I saw it, but we have bought one anyway as it seems the best comprimise, but am a bit disappointed. Have wondered if anyone has old stock of the V1 E3 and whether I would like that...?

Any other views?

I'm thinking of buying either the V1 or V2, but my husband is unsure how safe the baby carrier is. He reckons it looks very vunerable. Have any of you used this buggy for a toddler and newborn, and what did you think of it? I'm very small and am concerned it may be a bit heavy. How is it up and down curbs, and also loading into a car?
Also, did any of you ship the buggy in from NZ?
Thanks!

Macy, very interested in what replies you get. A girlfriend is returning to the UK with her 18 month and 5 month old and was thinking about buying an explorer. Told her I'd do abit of research on MN for her. We were a bit confused from the website as to which babe goes where???

My toddler is an average height 3 year old and fits the toddler seat in toddler/newborn mode fine (we have a v2 from Rodney) (although we are now using sibling mode as baby is 7 months)

Noodleboo - where are you - there's a shop near me that still has v1's in. (West London)

Kiwicath -Using a V2 (V1 similar though) for an 18 month old and a 5 month old I would think you would use the 'siblings' setting..that is that the 18month old would sit at the front in the main seat and the 5 month would sit at the back in the 'add-on' seat.
The alternative (if the 5 month old is not wanting to sit up yet and prefers to be flat) is to have the 5 month old in the newborn 'hammock' bit, with the 18month old in the 'add-on' seat which is clipped on in the front position (so the baby is suspended underneath the toddler)..

I used to swap between the two positions depending on whether it was the baby's nap time or not (which is an advantage of a v2 - it is a lot less fiddly to change the seats around)..until baby was 7 months and was too long for the newborn hammock seat.

HTH

Thanks Blue Bear ..... but bloody hell!! Where do I get my degree so I can understand all the E numbers and terminology. I'm sure Phil and Ted are very nice blokes but their wives should have written the instruction book . I'm well interested now though. May even have to have a second babe myself just so I can test it all out. Thanks so much for your help. Will pass all the info on.

Have bought the version 2 with the clip-on seat - it seems ok and luckily dd is quite small so when newborn is ready to go inot seat she will still not have her head poking into the hood.

By the way, make sure you get version 2 sun-covers and rain covers as the old ones do not fit - kept me busy trying to work out if they would fit and then phoned the shop I had bought it from to check. They had been unaware that it had changed - so watch out!

By the way, as an inexperienced 3 wheeler pusher, how do you go up wide steps without locking the wheel? We have some big steps outside our house and I'm a bit worried that I'm going to tip the babes out!
