Is there a filter you can take out and clean?

suzywong · 31/05/2004 09:43

Ah ha,
This happened to us a while back.
First of all get on your marigolds and unscrew the drain and bottom of the dishwasher and poke around for any blockage.
Then put it all back together and turn your washer to the drain cycle, this is usually just aftet the last notch on the dial or whatever and you will hear the pump start to work.
Then put it on a cycle with the salt dispenser filled up and if that doesn't do the trick come back on here.

It is very distressing isn't it, the though of the magic cupboard conking out.

Filter, of course, that 't the word for it.

Oooh it's all slimey and gunky in there MS - have fun!

Another thought - don't know if your dishwaher is the same but one time when this happened to me it was because someone had opened the door before the wash cycle had quite finished, and I didn't realise. I rinsed all the dishes by hand then when I pressed start for the next load it showed there was still 9 minutes or so of the unfinished cycle to run.

i've had my hands in there, taked the filter things out given them a good scrub, poked around to find any blockage but no. so there was still a little water in the bottom, well quite a lot actually, so i've just set the cycle off again from the beginning, now i just keep nipping in to make sure there's not slimy water all over the kitchen floor - watch this space.
(the previous one had finished)

Just to follow on this thread.
Our dishwasher which is a bosch is barely 17 months old.
The pump seems to have stopped working suddenly. DH reckons he has checked for blockages without any success.
As it will cost between £20-40 to call someone out and then about £100 if the pump needs replacing, we're tempted to dump it, a new one would be £200, and although it seems a waste, if it is repaired I wouldn't really trust it anymore. Any suggestions
