What should I /should I not buy?

Ideally it will hovver in thin air to allow 2 booster seats to be installed either side whilst allowing access to the seatbelt sockets.

hmm, I'm thinking,(!) is it the one called the maxi cosi tobi anygood?

here's one

MerlinsBeard · 14/01/2007 20:09

britax hi liner is good. obv it depends on the age though, hiliner from15kg

Ceolas · 14/01/2007 20:12

Our Maxi Cosi SPS fits between 2 booster seats in a Zafira... Just.

Fastening the seatbelts is a bit of a faff though.

In terms of 'narrow' seats, I think the Britax Freeway and M&P pro tec are contendors.

I had the Maxi Cosi Priori XP which I thought was great but didn't fit our new car so we had to get the Britax Isofix duo. V expensive but very safe (and now for sale) as we are going up another stage...
What car do you have?

LOL!

the safest seat to go for (if you dont want ISOFIX) is the maxi cosi tobi...

other seats that do very well and are recommended by Which include Maxi cosi priori, britax renaissance. I would always go for one of those seats

the britax evolva has done "ok" as well (the ONLY 3 stage car seat (as far as i recall) to ever even be considered safe enough to not be in the not recommended section!

the britax first class is only considered 'ok' as well

I dont have the articles to hand at the moment (now live in my own house, not my dads where all the which reports are carefully filed away) but if you go for a maxi cosi one or the britax renaissance you can be sure your child is traveling in a safe seat

The Tobi has potential... looks narrow at the base. Bet it doesn't fit though!

Isofix isn't an option as I want it to go in the middle and Isofix points are only in the outer 2 seats. At the moment 1 DS has to travel in the front which is far from ideal due to the airbag (the seat does go well back though).

I can't believe that our Laguna isn't "big" enough to fit 3 children in the back.

we have M&P protecs for both our kids, and they are fab fab fab. love 'em. Info we read said they are equal safest in their class, and they are so easy to use, and so comfy for the kids, and and....

but I don't know that they are particularly narrow. Wont a shop let you try one in the car?

Astrophe · 14/01/2007 22:23

if you go to Which online, you can get a free 3 month subscription and check out the reports yourself

Macdog · 14/01/2007 22:35

We've just bought the Maxi Cosi Priori XP here (and a review here )

SoupDragon · 15/01/2007 10:01

Priori definitely too wide I think.

I'm sure they would let me try them in a shop. I'm 99% certain there is no carseat that will fit in the centre seat of a Laguna though. At least not without completely obscuring the side seatbelt sockets. It's a cr*p design (and a common flaw I think).

Must get the boys' old seat dowm from the loft - it's gor a frame rather than a solid base and might just do the trick although it's rather shabby being 7 years old!

Thanks
